I'm feeling a bit rubbish at the moment. My AM called last week and said I need more parties...which I do but as I'm only in it for the extra cash I'm not too worried (I have 7 booked and 2 christmas shopping nights). She told me to call everyone I knew and all old customers but I'm not comfortable with this as I don't want to bug people. I'm seeing her tonight and she wants me to call people when i'm there but feel even more uncomfortable being watched. I do this job because I thought it would be stress free but now I feel really anxious and I'm constantly thinking about it.
I haven't been doing it long and I know most of us have the same issues getting parties but there seems to be little help from my AM. I always get the comeent 'I know you'll be fine' when in truth I'm not!!!
How does everyone else find the phoning around? What do I say?
Wow that seems a little harsh to me, I could maybe understand if you were struggling for parties but it sounds like you are doing fantastic so far to me.
Do what you feel comfortable with at the end of the day this is your own business and you have to run it how you see fit hun, you area manager is there for support not to dictate!
If you do decide to ring people then just something like " Hi there (Name) it's (Your Name), how are you? I'm just ringing because you (partied/ordered) with me (date) and was wondering if you would be interested in having a party again anytime soon. We have some fantastic promotions on at the moment (tell her) and as you are one of my most valued customers you will also get a say yes gift from me" (if you use them).
Hope this helps a little.

i wouln't feel comfatable ringing people in front of my AM either. the whole thing i liked about joining TBSAH is the 'no pressure' to get parties. 7 parties is great and you will probs get parties from those parties.
The lass that recruited me hasn't had a party since June and she's not getting any pressure and my AM didn't have any parties last month either!
Do what you want hun, don't be pressurised as thats when you will start regretting doing it as i did with Ann Summers and a pushy AM there!

I would agree with what has already been said. Do what you want. If your AM wanted to offer you extra prizes that made you want to do more that's different from piling on the pressure. It's your business and it's up to you how much you do as long as your RQV stays high enough.0

Thanks for the support, its helped relax me abit. I thought maybe this was normal practice and I was just doing rubbish.
Ok...I'm no longer going to worry:j0 -

Pandapop, what area are you in? who is your AM. I think they are going over the top, you are doing fine with those parties. I would just tell your AM that you are happy with your business, and would rather get parties your own way.0

hi pandapop - totally agree with what everyone above has said - its up to you how often and when you want to party - if you get pushed into doing to much it'll take the fun out of it and you'll end up not wanting to do it anymore! x x0

Hi,
I'm in Hertfordshire, I don't really want to name and shame my AM though. I think the pushyness is because she wants to go to Rio...it doesn't interest me though as I don't like travelling (I'm pathetic being away from home). She is also always on about recruits. I'm just trying to find my feet on selling and getting parties without adding to it. It will happen but in its own time. Never mind onwards and upwards!! Thanks for all your advice.0 -
Piling on pressure is going to have the reverse effect. More training, more support and listening to you is all thats needed. The more parties you do the more you will enjoy them and want to do more. Even if you dont its your business like another poster said. Is you Manager or recruiter any better?:j0
