  • Hello everybody! I've just signed up to be a consultant and am very excited.. Also great to join the site. I was wondering if anybody could help me with a question about networking to get people other than family and friends to have At Home parties. Is it okay to go into schools and set up a stall at fetes etc? There doesn't seem to be any guidelines on minimum age limit for parties and I've been approached by a few teenagers wanting to have one. What's the general advice on this?

I can't seem to find what would happen if you didn't set up four parties in the first month-do you pay it all back?

The company also sell the same products direct online, with a discount, and free delivery subject to t&c. So no loyalty to the distributors then.
  • Hi - I've just joined TBSAH and am in the process of ordering my kit. I have a big fundraiser planned and need to order catalogues, order forms etc but can't find a list of codes to do this? Is there a PDF or something that would give me the codes?

    TIA

I am just doing my self assessment and wondered what you put down for the starter kit, did you put it down as expense. I.e £45? I was wondering if given that it was worth £175 you put the difference between those figures as part of income I.e. £130? Just finding it confusing!

    Hello,

I'm quite interested in becoming a Body Shop consultant at home. I am disabled and unable to get into the workplace, so I thought that doing this might help me make a little extra cash so I can start saving for things.

My income is entirely benefits and pension. ESA, DLA, HB, and war pension. Is the BS@H considered a real job by the DWP? Is the income declarable? Does it affect your benefits?mim hoping that as the income is variable it won't have any affect at all. As with the benefits system we all know what you get with one hand gets taken away by the other hand.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks.

    Hey G8311374,

I don't work for Body Shop but I do another Direct Sales company. When/if you join then you need to register as self-employed with HMRC and then keep records of all your income (commission) and outgoings (anything your spend on things like promotional material). You will then need to file a tax return each year declaring your profits, this will also assess how much (if any) tax and national insurance you will need to pay.

If and how it will effect your current benefits is unknown, it will all depend on how much you make. Nobody can tell you how much you will make doing it, or if you will make any at all. Your best bet will be to talk to someone at the benefits office or CAB and ask what kind of income you will need to be bringing in before your benefits will be affected - I know some in-work based benefits require you to be earning at least minimum wage before receiving them but I don't think that will be the case for you.

    Hope this helps.
  • Hi everyone.
I know this is an old thread but I've just started as a consultant in Bedford and was wondering if there was anyone local?
  • Hi All, I have just sent off an enquiry on the website about becoming a Body Shop Home Consultant and have no idea how long it takes from here on in. Also, am I to be the only chap? I have noticed that the messages are prodominantly from Ladies so far. :)
