    Hey all,

I can't be the only one excited by all the amazing things going on in the land of TBSAH at the moment! :T

Was wondering, does anyone know if theres a minimum party value we have to put through for each of those 4 parties we have to do this month to buy into the October kit builds?

And has anyone been on one of the incentive trips while being just a consultant?
I'd love to go, but i don't think i could even get half the points needed in time (and sadly cant get the time off uni anyway :( )!

    Thanks - Steph x

Hi I'm an ex area manager, but as a consultant I won lunch with Anita Roddick for top 30 sales. Had a really great day, Anita was a very special person. I was'nt deliberatly trying to win, just got lucky I guess. Am thinking of coming back and gather there's been lots of changes, whats the general consensus is it still a good deal?

    Hi

I have been with the Body Shop as a Consultant for 2 years. I recently went to our regional Conference and the Main Conference and their are some very exciting changes. You can now earn an additional 10% from your e-mail customers, the Xmas PWP is one of the best offers I have seen, & the taste of the body shop (for new consultants) is really simple. £40 joining offer - 4 parties, they receive a pamper pack 1st, if they want to go on and do 4 more parties they can purchase the make-up kit and then a skin-care kit when they do four more.

Kit build has been replaced by kit add-ons packs of new products you can purchase if you have done 4 parties in a month. I hope that gives you a bit of an idea of the changes. You are welcome to give me a call if you want more info. I have Pm'd my number.

    Monny :T
  • Hey Hellsbells, definately worth joining up... especially if your considering being a manager again... with the new Taste of the Body Shop we also get a 5% mentoring bonus so thats 13% on a personal!

The whole idea is that you place an order a week, if thats from a party, a party in a bag or a collection of orders from an office or such like... of course this time of year (as you probably know) is a fab time to make heaps of money with very little outlay! x

My only concern is that I have chronic fatigue syndrome and if I have a bad day on the day of the party ... and from past experience I've found it hard to get cover at the last minute, not to maention that whoever takes the party on usually has a very good sale ( I had a very good circle of customers) and then I feel really peed off.

Have just started to do Avon, which I can pace around the CFS.

Think I will see how I manage that and then review at a later date. I still have all my contacts though and am still called the body shop lady even though I have'nt done it for about 2 yrs. I do miss it but I think I need to give myself some time before I go back into it..

Will keep an eye on the thread and if anyone wants any tips on selling, widening circles etc then very happy to help. (big tip no 1, get into a circle of Jehova's witnesses to keep sales going in january!);)

  • Hi
I have a question regarding selling bodyshop. Obviously body shop supplies the consultant with a kit which is used for selling at parties. Is there anything to stop a consultant buying loads of products at the discounted price and selling them in a market or other outlet.
Is this against body shop rules?

Absolutely NO. Definately would get VERY upset about that. The shops would be very annoyed as well as they have to pay big bucks for the franchise. I didn't recruit someone once because she had a hairdressing business and intended to use her shop to gain customers, that in itself isn't bad, but if one product had been displayed on her shelves then it would have been a very different matter and was to big a risk to take. Hope that helps

  • Thanks very much for your reply. I thought that'd be the case. Never mind...I'll have to get my thinking cap on and think about what else I can sell. I don't really fancy doing parties.

Jewellery is always a good mark up and its the right time of year. I did that one year, used to give my friends baskets with bits in to take to work, also school fairs etc.

Party plan can be fun but also frustrating sometimes espec when you get the usual flu virus outbreaks and everyone cancels. My average party with body shop was £200 but with the right hostess coaching and a bit of luck thrown in I would do £400 once or twice a month. It can be fun and may be worth a try, you'll know very quickly if its for you or not.

Another thing to consider is that if you go on the market you have to buy stock, rent stall, which can be easier said than done, many will only have so many of any type on, you also have to get there early to set up. It may be worth doing party plan to get a taste of running your own business, its a great learning ground with minimal risk. Hope this helps.

    Hi Ladies,

I've been a consultant since the end of May. I did my last party in July and have since been struggling to get bookings so I did a couple of fetes and got a couple of ladies interested. One lives in the South east and out of my area and another was driving distance so I contacted her in August but she was going on holiday, then I was ill and then I was on holiday so I called her last week and got her booked in and was extremely excited because at the end of September I'm due to fall off the system unless I make £135! I called the lady last night to confirm the details, only to be told that she's pregnant and her morning sickness has kicked in and its all the time so she's cancelled on me and moved it to November!

I don't give up easily so I called all my friends and my previous hosts but no one is interested. I've done catalogue drops and been told they prefer Avon because their cheaper! I spoke to people where I work and they aren't interested and two of my hosts don't want parties until November time so I'm at a loss of what to do to get my £135. Usually I would have thrown a home party but no one is available and so I thought about buying more for my kit but not £135 worth!

Does anyone have any ideas? Is it worth going to a store and canvasing? Someone suggested retirement homes. I don't give up easily but I really don't know what else to do. I don't exactly have great friends, as you can tell. The next time they want favours they can forget it! lol.

How is everyone else doing? Its nearly peak season so can't be bad!
Will be debt free by December 2016. Total debt £6207.35 . £188 per month on a DMP with Payplan.
