The Body Shop At Home (Hints and tips)

Well done to everyone who did the phone in tonight!
I had a party last night, lowest sales yet, only 4 guests came and 2 spent less than £10, the host ended up spending £49 and I feel so bad for her as we got on really well and I know she's skint at the moment, I think she only did it because she felt bad for me coming to do a crap party! Needless to say no party bookings from that one.
No more booked in before xmas so I guess that's me done with this. I said to myself if I wasn't doing well by xmas then there's no way I'll do January.
When I started out I was so motivated and excited, I even wanted to make Am next year. I spent weeks on the net finding creatives to do, making my posters and flyers, dropping them off at houses, pestering everyone I know, writing tons of lists and ideas and I ended up narrowly making SS2 and then having the worst month ever. I had 2 gift fairs that failed Miserably so I lost money on those, especially as (on the advice of friends who go to a lot of them) I bought stuff to sell there. I don't drive so I have had to get lifts all over the place from my helpful in-laws, who don't mind but I hate asking. I only got half my parties because of my wonderful sister-in-law, without her I wouldn't even have made SS1, I have had half my parties let me down and I am now sooooo fed-up with the whole Body-Shop thing. I really wanted to be able to do something for myself but I ended up having to rely on everyone else to help me. So I guess I'm done.
I want to thank all of you on this thread for your help, support, tips and ideas. I hope you all have better luck than me and have a great December.

hi all! I havent had time to post on here in ages! Ive been so busy with work (im currently on a busy orthopaedic trauma ward) i dont seem to get a minute to myself! I did the ring in, rang in 6 dates and won a pink grapefruit body butter. Will make a nice prize for someone, seeing as i already have one, but im not complaining i never win anything so im happy to win something!
Ragz, i had a bad bad start to this. My first few parties no one even came , in fact io only made SS1 by £3.50!! October was very quiet and November has seen most of my parties cancelled. Both months ive not done much past my £425! Speak to your AM and let her know you are having difficulty with booking parties. Hopefully she will be able to help you. Mine goes through order forms and calls past hostesses and guests and this does work well. Ive done that tonight myself and got 4 bookings which astonished me if im honest.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do,

Morning girls, Sorry to hear you are struggling so much Ragz, i wish i could help.
I rang through last night, during a party and put through 5 bookings and won a mascara and a Vit e Everyday collection! so very pleased with that
I have another party this lunch time, hoping it is better than last night as it was a little slow, but not too bad. I have a few booked for december, but none for January, and am a little worried about next year, but will wait a bit until panicking.
Keep smiling everyone and huge (((((HUGS))))) to Ragz and anyone else who needs oneLeopardlady

Hi Ragz it's sad to hear you're calling it a day. Are you sure your Area Manager can't help you to get some more bookings in? Mine is very supportive and has a list of past hostesses we can call to get some extra bookings in.
I only had one January booking until Monday night when I got 1 from a party and then last night I got 2 booked in so it can quickly change round.
I had a terrible start to this my friends let me down quite badly by not being that supportive and I had tons of cancellations at the start. I very nearly gave up after the first few weeks. However, with a change to how I did my host coaching it seems to have turned itself around and I'm much happier with the way things are going now.
Good luck if you have made the decision to move on. Keep in touch on the forum from time to time to let us know how you're getting on.

Well i have just had a wasted party, only two people there including the host and neither wanted anything from body shop! The host then ordered an oil burner and an oil and only spent £13.69!!!!!!! I was made to sit there for almost 4 hours listening to them gossip! Oh well this week has been a waste of time, but there we go. Never mind, i have a party next week and fair this weekend that my manager is doing and i am covering for her on sat, so will see how that goes. Right i am off to check my bread is not burning and see about getting supper sorted.
Take care and i hope everyone has a good night.Leopardlady

Alright guys, hope everyone is well - need your advice urgently!
EDIT - I'll just tell the host that her order is minus the gift sets and that they will be here by Monday (if I order them tonight) and just take the store bought ones back to store! - I think this is most sensible! Gosh this can be stressful, I hate letting people down so out of stock items really stress me out!NST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

HI guys, thanks for all your support. Does make me feel better to know I'm not the only one who had a rough start but I think this just isn't really me. I don't like selling stuff to people anyway, especially friends and I'm just not enjoying doing this as much as I thought I would. I doubt I'll be able to get any more bookings before xmas and there's no way I'm forking out for new spring cats etc if I have no bookings next year so I will try my best this week to get some parties and do another catalogue drop but if that doesn't work I think that's me done.
Best of luck to the rest of you though and thanks again for the support. Guess I'll just get on with xmas stuff now!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hi Ragz,
Sorry to hear things aren't so great
Have you tried going into store to get bookings? I've only got one party booked into January so far and I'm hoping to get into store this Saturday, and also next Friday during the special event they are doing to fill January with parties.
I've only got three parties in December, but I'm not trying to get any more as I think its too late now and I want to have some time to have fun and do my (non-body shop) christmas shopping.
If I do get in on Saturday I'll let you know how I get on, all the best Leanne xxxNST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.
