Tonight im out interviewing with my AM and the girl we were going to interview has asked if her friend can come along as she is very interested in becoming a consultant. Whoop!

Just thought I'd share my experience from last night. Me and my friend both do The Body Shop at Home. We did a little fundraiser at the brownies/rainbows last night. The parents just got the chance to have a mooch at our stall when picking their kids up. Anyway, we didn't expect to make anything at all, but they spent about £230 altogether, which was really good as there weren't many there. Plus, it was good practice for a larger fundraiser, which we hope to do.
P.S. I'm going to try posting some cover letters through local businesses to see if they want me to take any samples in and they can maybe pass round the catalogues to the friends and family. Does anyone have a template for something like this?
Also, I was going to ask some local hairdressers if they wanted us to come in the salon one late night opening and bring our kit. Has anyone done anything like this? Thanks.0 -
Hi Everyone.
Well II've just come to the end of Success Start, I joined on 26 Sept. I got £1600 in Oct so got all 3 SS levels plus my sister in law joined as a Xmas seller so I got recruit too.
Really struggling now tho. had my first November party last night and it was a disaster. 10 people turned up but only 5 people ordered and even then average sale was about £10 each. The guests were more bothered about socialising so hardly listened and then kept disappearing outside for cigarettes. I was there for over 4 hrs and at 11pm I was still waiting for orders as nearly all of them were outside smoking and chatting. I made a point of telling the host that she was £33 short from getting any free shopping to which she replied "you miserable lot!" so have left the catalogue with her to try and get some more orders today. And one girl who hadn't ordered picked up a catalogue then cos she felt guilty!!
But its PEAK!! I should be making lots more now. I've got one more party tomorrow night then another one next Friday and then nothing else booked in until January! Really think if I'm struggling to get parties near Xmas I'll never get anywhere the rest of the year. Its soo disheartening!!!
Anyway, rant over. Can anyone pick me up? I love the job when the sales are good but right now I'm wondering if its worth it!!!

Lorraine we all have parties like that hun the thing to do is pick yourself up and say 'Next!'. If you look back to the beginning of the thread, i had an awful start and really thought i had made a mistake but now im lovin it. It annoys me when guests dont listen to you and when sales are low its a disappointment, but i bet your party tomorrow night will make up for the disaster of last night. Im booked until 3rd december and then have no more booked!

Hi everyone,
Lorraine I had a similar party to you last Friday...12 guests and only 5 ordered. The ones who didn't order sat at the back talking the whole time, they were just there to get drunk and weren't even interested in what I was saying. I felt really pee'd off but then my friend who is also a consultant said to me "well look at it this way atleast it can't get much worse" and she's right everyone must have the odd crap party with rude guests. I'm just looking forward to my next one which is this Friday. I've only got 3 booked for the rest of this month I really want one or two more. xxx0 -
Thanks Monica and Nicki
Nicki thats a really good way to look at it.. it can't get worse!! lol. Yeah fingers crossed for tomorrow, and actually one lady was really keen on all the products and I thought she was gonna spend a fortune but then she got chatting to another lady and at the end of the night rushed her order so it only came to £10. She does want to book a party though, but needs to get a date sorted with friends first and she actually ticked the box on the order form that she is interested in earning opportunities so I think I should pass her details on to tracy my manager. The thing is, in your experience is it better to wait until she books a party before getting your manager to call her or after in case she is put off and doesn't book a party in the end.

Also, was just wondering.. I did a catalogue drop down my street last week with the old catalogue and the September Xmas gift leaflets. Unfortunately I didn't get any interest in it. I was wondering if that was because I said payment was due in advance. Can anyone tell me what they do? Maybe its the leaflet I am putting in it thats not grabbing them?! Any suggestions?0
-
I dont think the old catalogue is of interest anymore to be honest. I dropped my last lot of old catalogues and didnt get a thing. I was thinking of doing another drop with the christmas catalogues but cant face the cold weather and dark streets just yet!
On the weekend i went into store and got some names and numbers for party leads, will follow those up now to see if i can book anyone in. If anyones having a hard time booking parties i would say go into store for a couple of hours, i even got a party booked from one of the staff!0 -
Yeah I did a creative at the store recently but the trouble is I live in a city full of tourists and a lot of people come from afar to shop here so the two booking possibilities were both between 30 and 50 miles away from me and I really don't think its worth travelling so far, plus I don't like motorway driving!!!0
