Still a lot of money when you think of the monthly fee for the contract. Still a lot of money at £99. Afraid I have more sense than money. Don't have an iPod either - another waste of money.
I don't like spending money and certainly wouldn't waste money on a contract.
Way too many people are fooled by all the spin - getting this many 'free' minutes here etc. Totally forgetting the stupid £30+ per month they are paying.
I'm tight fisted and will stick with the much cheaper landline and just use my PAYG Vodafone with the Vodafone family option we share - that's £1.17 per month for 'free' calls between us, if my monthly mobile phone costs are more than £1.50 then something usually has gone wrong.
But hey, we seem to live in this must have now society and is why the country is in such as mess as it is financially and socially.
You are totally the opposite of me (although I'm not an iPhone fan either). I agree with the spin though, no end of people waffle on about having 100000 free minutes for 40 quid a month, but I know no one that uses even half of those!
Totally disgree with the iPod being a waste of money though, since I got one last year it's a god send....no more carrying around 300 CD's in the car to get scratched. Depends what you do/where you do though really.0 -

Yes, it is a lot of money when you look at it like that, and it's the reason I don't have one. If I did have a contract phone already (or wanted to get one), I'd have an iPhone in a heartbeat.Still a lot of money at £99.
There are more expensive smart phones out there.Afraid I have more sense than money. Don't have an iPod either - another waste of money.
I'd hardly equate owning an iPod with a lack of sense, nor would I say they're a waste of money. If you bought one and never used it, then yes, it would be a waste of money. But I use my iPod all the time, and so it was a very modest cost for an awful lot of entertainment.I don't like spending money and certainly wouldn't waste money on a contract.
I agree with you there. I don't use my phone that often, so it would be a waste to be paying money for free minutes that I would never use.But hey, we seem to live in this must have now society and is why the country is in such as mess as it is financially and socially.
I'm afraid you've lost me there.0 -

Yeah, there's more expensive phones out there, still that means I won't be buying those either.
I suppose to those who like music and have to listen virtually everywhere and to the same lot of tracks loaded on them, then maybe to them it's worth it, I just listen to the radio or CDs at home, when out then don't listen to anything too busy doing something else.
As for the last comment, we live in a must have society and a must have now, instead of the society where you simply saved your money and waited to get an item, people weren't in so much debt as they are now, people weren't mugging each other at knife point to get items because they wanted them, life was so much simpler and more fun back then, as kids you'd play out until the sun came down, now many kids are stuck in their bedrooms glued to TVs and computer games.
Instead of what I consider wasting money on items like iPods and loads of other gadgets - no XBoxes, PS2s, PS3s, etc here, we go out a lot with the kids and all have fun together, swimming, bowling, football, cricket, tennis etc etc as well as many other places, we also let the kids go out themselves and have fun like we did as kids. The only equipment we really have that cost some money was the PC and I built that as that's my line of work. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Just a lot of money for an over rated poor piece of technology.
compare the review a couple of posts above about how poor the tocco was, and then compare the reviews in plenty of places on the internet, about how totally opposite the iPhone works, when compared to the tocco.. then how can it be a poor piece of technology..
just because you don't want to pay £35 a month for a contract, doesn't mean that it is actually CHEAPER for me to have a contract than loading £50 ish quid on a PAYG mobile!!!!0 -
Rev,
Consider buying (or getting given) a 2G iPhone that's either been Jailbroken and unlocked or which you can run on an O2 PAYG SIM.
A heavy hint in your parish magazine might prompt a divine gift.
BexTech,
I have more sense than money.
If this is true, the inference to be drawn from your postings is that you must have extremely little money.
It's also pretty daft to give lectures on grammar in a signature beneath an illiterate posting.
As far as your signature itself goes, you could start by learning where to put a comma and where to put a semi-colon.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

They do a 2GB iPhone? That may be worth adding to the weekly notices in place of a tithe:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
