Samsung Tocco?

Hi, I have been considering a new phone recently with my current contract up in a couple of months, and being a Mac user would love to get an iPhone but cant really justify the expense.

Is the Tocco a decent alternative? Does anyone have one and how do you rate it? Is it good on WiFi and is the limited HD a hinderance?

It seems a decent equivalent and reviews do put it in the same bracket as the iPhone, but obviously without the huge lay-out and monthly tariff. (I currently only pay £15 p/month with 500mins and 500texts). I do also like the Samsung designs and user system having had one the last 3phones ive had, lol!

Anyone  all reviews/recommendations appreciated :T

The iPhone is coming out on a pay and go tariff later in the year; I'm certainly going to consider purchasing it (depending on the price of course). You could just buy the handset and use your current SIM in it. I can't imagine it'll cost much more than the Samsung Tocco does.

Good to know, will definately keep my ear to the ground on that one :) the contract version keeps coming down in price so hopefully it wont be too much ;)

I like Samsungs, but would obviously prefer the iPhone, it's just a question of economics ;)

I got the Tocco...It was nice in the shop but when I actually got it home I hated it.The touch screen is a pain and it's really hard to text. The picture quality isn't great, the flash is absolutly blinding, it's really slow at scrolling through pictures. It's really fast at scrolling through contacts and you always end up pressing the wrong one:mad: .
It looks good and it is ok for the novelty value but is so frustrating and unusable I would give it a miss...I have put my sim back in my Sony w850i!:D

Blimey, and I wouldn't waste my money on the overrated crap which is iPhone, says a lot about the Samsung then.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Why do you think it's crap?

Just a lot of money for an over rated poor piece of technology.

You can get it free on some tariffs, and on the tariffs on which it isn't free, you can get it for £99. Hardly a lot of money considering the cheapest iPod Touch (which is just an iPhone without the phone) is £170.

Personally, I'd love one, but I don't want a contract phone. Every time I go past the O2 store, I go in and play around with it. I'll see how much they are when they come out on pay and go.

Still a lot of money when you think of the monthly fee for the contract. Still a lot of money at £99. Afraid I have more sense than money. Don't have an iPod either - another waste of money.

I don't like spending money and certainly wouldn't waste money on a contract.

Way too many people are fooled by all the spin - getting this many 'free' minutes here etc. Totally forgetting the stupid £30+ per month they are paying.

I'm tight fisted and will stick with the much cheaper landline and just use my PAYG Vodafone with the Vodafone family option we share - that's £1.17 per month for 'free' calls between us, if my monthly mobile phone costs are more than £1.50 then something usually has gone wrong.

But hey, we seem to live in this must have now society and is why the country is in such as mess as it is financially and socially.
