Internet Dongle
Options

I was wondering if anyone could help me understand if an internet dongle is a better option for me than having broadband internet.
I'm moving into shared housing where there is broadband and a phone line, but it's not currently active. That would mean having to get it all set up and going and paying for both a landline and broadband (though that would be divided between those in the house interested).
I was wondering if a dongle would be a better option for me cost wise? I understand that I can get one on contract for £15 per month from 3 for 2.8mb speed and 3 GB download a month. I sort of grasp the concept that 1 GB is like 25,000 pages or something, but I honestly have NO idea if this is a good option for me? I use the internet for emails, bidding on elance, researching my writing, chatting with friends on facebook, talking to family back in the US on Skype, and watching shows on iPlayer. I probably spend at least one hour per day online, maybe more on weekends sometimes.
Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

if you watch TV via iPlayer - then you will eat into that 3GB quite quickly - maybe every 30 minutes is 300MB0

That really helps. I probably watch on average 3 to 4 one hour shows in a week. Sometimes more as this weekend I watched a 4 hour movie special on iPlayer (streaming). So I guess it might be better to get Broadband then?0
