yes but there is a possability, also even if they do release it, they could be late, which means you could be left for even a short period of time with no money. if you have just gone bankcrupt and cant pay your rent on time becuase the OR/ bank are taking a few days to unfreeze your acocount / issue cheque e.t.c you can still be penalised for it.
The way this works all seems very wrong to me. but I will shut up now as this is homeschooler's post and i am going off the subjectBankruptcy Supporters Club No.1790 -
Hi
I phoned my caseworker this morning and explained about it being too late to stop the payment of tax credits into the account and she said that it was fine to draw the money out on Thursday as it was for essential living costs. She said that HSBC might not have frozen it by then and to try and draw it out as normal. If the bank won't let me access the money she said to get the branch fax number and she would fax them and tell them to release the money as it is benefits so hopefully it should all be ok.
WTC have agreed to send future payments by giro until I have my new account details from the co op bank. Anyone know how long this will take? I took id into the branch in Preston on Thursday but haven't heard anymore since.
Thanks for all your help. It really is very much appreciated. :A

Glad you got it sorted Emma.:j
Chances are HSBC won't have frozen your account by Thursday, it took them about 6 weeks to close ours!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
