I know what you mean about anxiety etc. 2006 is not a year I intended to re-visit in any way shape or form just for that reason.
Will post here if and when anything happens.
    Good luck guys.

Hi folks, I've just had one of those enquiry letters too. As some of you have mentioned...I think it's that time of year for these sort of enquiries. I don't think that they are generated by any suspicous activity but are simply a random sample so please don't worry. I guess it's something they have to do as they have a responsibility to ensure the taxpayer is getting the best service from them (don't laugh).

Will be interested to see how we all get on....keep posting!

I've posted in kaylawendy's thread too. We got one of these letters as well- enquiring about the same year, '06-'07. My husband was unemployed for a while that year and started a new job- so we had a change of circumstances. Looks like that's what's causing them to look at us all- something different happening!
We'd had a fairly large back payment from them earlier that year- and I've been so worried that they'd now tell me it was an overpayment.
They were asking for hubby's PAYE number, date of anywork started, hours worked etc. I decided to phone them- and had a beggar of a time getting through, but I managed to speak to someone on Monday morning. That afternoon I found a payment in our account from them of a few hundred pounds- and then the new award amount went in on Tuesday as usual (it's gone up a little bit).
Today the award notices arrived. No overpayment (hallelujah!!!!). It all seems ok. I'm a bit baffled that it tells us we aren't entitled to working tax credit (just CTC), as we fulfill all the requirements as far as I can see- and all the online calculation sites (including their own) reckon we're entitled- but that's a different enquiry really.
Obviously I can't speak for anyone else's circumstances- but it does look as if it really is just an enquiry.
Hope everyone else hears soon- it does make you really nervous when you don't know, doesn't it??????
Conquering the debts one penny at a time.....

Ive not heard but am having a compliance officer visit from DWP as per my other frantic posts! Not sure if this is related though?

I have rang tex credits also and they say my case is still open for enquiry and they will write to advise when the enquiry is closed?

    Have you heard anymore?
  • No nothing yet , still wish it would just be finished with!
