major problems with orange - URGENT HELP!

Back in October last year, I took out 2 contracts, one for me and one for my friend ( MAJOR MISTAKE) from carphone warehouse on the orange £35 a month plan
The phone I got was rubbish and I had nothing but problems with it so I went back to carphone warehouse, the guy said I still had my insurance on my phone so I could take out a new contract and cancel my old one in 3 months time and he would give me the money to cover my remaining bills.
Now the friend who has the other phone has run up a huge bill, we've fallen out and my outstanding bill is now £310
So now im left with a £310 bill, a monthly charge of 115 for the 3 phones and no way out or way of paying it all as I have to leave my job to go back to studying.
Any advice at all would be much appreciated as I don't know where to go from here

Your message is somewhat unclear.
However, I can see that you appear to have given your ex-friend a handset and that you are liable for the contract. You should recover the handset from your friend in the first instance and you may be able to sell it in order to recover some monies, but you would have to pay for the remainder of the life of the contract. I suggest that you register it as lost and get the network to put a bar on it. At least that will stop your friend from using it and running excessive call charges on it. Effectively it will become useless.
Regarding the remaining two handsets, and possibly the one mentioned above, I'm unsure as to the detail of your contract, but you might be able to move the contracts onto a lower monthly tariff? Only do this if the numbers stack up well, ie what you don't want to do is to move them to a tariff with a lower monthly rental only to find that you have effectively renewed the contract for another 12 or 18 months or more.0 -
1) Ring Orange and bar all outgoing calls (and maybe incoming too) on your friend's mobile. [its okay to say its lost - but do not say its been stolen]
2) Get CPW to give you the mopney they owe you for one of the original contract.
3) Ask for a Best Plan review on your contracts - this might enable you to downgrade your tariff, otherwise check to see if tispossible (there are usually certain restrictions on downgrades)
4) Sell your phones (depending on what they are and if they will receive a decent price - you can use you contract sim in any Orange PAYG phone - just buy a cheap £10 one
5) Maybe try talking to your friend again and seeing if they will contribute - I suppose it deepnds on why you fell out - its possible you could try and use moneyclaim (https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk) against them?0
