Skipton BS fixed rate cash ISA ends tomorrow

Opened my account today but they are withdrawing the offer tomorrow. It is listed as the best buy for a fixed rate ISA in the article. The number to call to get one if you can't get to a branch is 0845 603 4735 and open till 8 tonight. Though typically its not an 0800 number...

Brilliant! We phoned them last week and were told we could only do it in a branch (which we do not have within 40 miles) and it was then too late to do my snailmail .............

What a coincidence! I gave my form and cheque into the branch today. I was going to post it then thought that as the branch is only 15 minutes' walk from where I work I might as well pop it in.
While I was waiting for my receipt I heard the other clerk talking on the phone about an ISA ending tomorrow. I checked with my clerk that my application would be honoured at today's interest rate. She confirmed it would be.0 -
also managed to open this yesterday. Only went to the shops to post a letter as well :j0

Received my passbook today, three days after submitting my form and cheque! (See my post above.)
Furthermore, it was dealt with by the branch instead of being sent off to be dealt with centrally. And by the person who served me.
I appreciate that new money is easier to deal with than transfers but to say I'm impressed would be an understatement!
Nationwide take note. I hereby proclaim that Skipton are a 'Proper' Building Society.0 -

John: I've actually posted a 'heaven sent' review of Skipton Building Society's performance in the 'rave & rant' section of the board.
My experience was the same as yours: an excellent service. . .
Until this afternoon.
But I'll make that a separate thread as I'm utterly bemused by Skipton BS and really need some good advice. . .
