Should I Pull Out Of Sale

If you are keen to buy the property, the chances are that when you come to sell there will be someone as equally keen to buy. I lived in a house right next to a dual carriageway and was worried about it struggling to sell but it went for the full asking price from the first person who saw it, one day after going on the market. As long as the price you are paying reflects the 'negative' of the powerlines, when you come to sell there will always be someone who wants a house like yours in the area that you live but couldn't afford one that didn't have a 'negative' aspect.
Good luck!0 -
A person at work lives under power lines. He claimed he could not get broadband via the telephone as it affected the voltages on the line.
I personally would not buy near any power lines.
Here is is link correlating power lines to child leukemia which may or may not be true, but why spend you £££ when you can buy elsewhere http://effectmeasure.blogspot.com/2005/06/powerlines-and-childhood-leukemia.htmlGOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.

If you are questioning this, then so will your buyers in the years to come. As it's a buyers market why not find somewhere less contentious?0

When I bought my car, I didn't know it was Insurance write-off. I came to know about it after my first service. I want to sell my car but no one wants it. It has been stressfull. I'm now stuck with it. I can't tell you how frustrating and annoying it is when you want to sell something and you can't!
House is a bigger commitment then a car. I would play it safe. Resale value is important.0 -
I lived in a village where there were overhead high voltage power lines. 3 people in a row of 7 houses developed cancer. Other people living fairly close to the power lines could not sell their houses
At your own risk of course but I am glad to be away from the lines and although the village is beautiful and peaceful, I would never have bought there if I had known of the risk attached0 -
There isnt any evidence that power lines can effect your health - there isnt even any possible mechanism whereby this could be the case. Same with mobile phone masts.
Just the Daily Wail and the Sexpress frightening people into buying their worthless rags.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Rise like Lions after slumber

You should add 'current evidence' to this sentence - remember British Beef was 100% safe to eat as assured by the government and it's scientific advisors - this transpired to wrong and beef was banned!
Research is always ongoing - imagine if you are in the house and a strong link is found - your house will be unsellable at pretty much any price. It's all about your views on avoidable risk!0 -

I don't care, I still would not buy there! Call me superstitious.
However if it was cheap enough and a 'little' transformer could be placed underneath to gather the escaping electro magnetic waves, I could see a use for this property in these current rising cost of energy times
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.

have you got children or would you be likely to have children in this house? We fell in love with a house and then spotted the power lines and pulled out immediately. We're got 2 small children and even though the health risk evidence is mixed do you want to take that risk. Imagine one of your children became ill with cancer you would always be questioning yourself if it was your fault for living there.
If evidence ever comes out that there DEFINITELY is a link your house will be virtually worthless over night. That is an awful lot of money to lose.0
