Bread mixes

Hi All
Just to let you know that Hovis bread mixes are going cheap in Tesco - they aren't on offer but it is 30p for the white and 35p for the granary. I use them in my breadmaker - the instructions say for a shorter bake time but I do it as if I was making it from scratch. They make really nice bread and whether or not you use a breadmaker work out cheaper than supermarket bread - loaves freeze well too.

They've been this price in Asda for several weeks now and you're right - they do make a lovely loaf. Where else can you get a loaf for 30p?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Agreed, the Hovis Granary is just about the best bread I've had out of all the mixes I've tried. Seems to fare better on rapid bake (3h) on my Panasonic rather than the normal 5h.0
