Morning all
Well today may or may not be a NSD :rotfl:
Hubby has gone to his golf competition, so i have him stopping off at the big naffi...His mission? to get more bread flour (after getting someone to price check it for him-i only want it if its 74c-not €1.49).... he is even under instruction to ask if they have any more out back if its 74cand to bring me 16 bags if they have it
Have given him an extra €10 just in case he spots any "super whoopsies" -he grilled me as to what constituted a "super whoopsy" :rotfl: ....I think he is worried that i will expect him to pay for anything i don't think is worth what he pays :rotfl:
So when hubby gets back it could be a  moment or a :j moment
Have just been outside and picked just over another 1lb of various tomatoes :T ... I think im going to have to start roasting and freezing them for pasta dishes/casseroles in winter... it seems a shame -but if i don't i know im just going to keep on eating them when i walk pastwhich really is such a waste when they could make a meal at a later date
I was just saying on another thread that its amazing when you sit and think about it -just how easy it is for spending to build up.... so far this week :-- If i had been a lazy bum and had the gyros hubby offered to get the other day rather than take some HM stuff out of the freezer it would have cost €15
- tomorrow we are of to an animal park -its free -the safari park would have been €46 for both of us, plus we can walk round -so use less fuel than driving round the safari park
- and if i wasn't packing a picnic -and we just got a basic sandwich and drink -at least €10 -and thats a very coservative estimate
Dinner tonight is jacket potato with cottage cheese n salad -again-good job its a fave.. im going to have sweet potato instead.... the other "planned meals" that we should have been having are all things that are in the fridge/freezer so won't spoil and will just get used next month
right i had better get off..have a great day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Going for a NSD today, it is tipping it down so probably wont even leave the house! Hubby bought my celery yesterday so not counting that:D It came out of his money. Done my mealplan for next week and hoping i can spend under £20 for the bits and bobs i need to finish it;)The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Everyone is doing so well this month!
Well, I didn't get the marrows - or DH didn't - as there were none left when he stopped. Will have a scout around and see if anyone else is selling them. I have one but that's not enough to make the chutney.
Going off to MrM in a moment and hope to get some chicken. My own fault if it is gone because I've been a real lazy bones today.
2nd day minestrone soup for tea and some salmon left + cold potatoes so will cobble that together in a salady thing. Loved the idea of making potato cakes (left over mash mixed with flour and shaped as patties then fried) which someone kindly posted on the ain't haute cuisine thread so plan to have extra potatoes at some point this week so I can make them. Might do them with some of those sausages I seem to have accumulated.
The dogs are getting left over lettuce with their tea tonight. I didn't notice some left in the dish. It's all part of my don't throw it out challenge. Oh lucky dogs. I'll mix it with their pilchard and they'll never notice. Bit like DH and oatmeal in his mince, bless.0 -
Morning!
No sunshine to report in Manchester - sorry! It was quite bright at about 6.30am when I was walking the dog but it's since clouded over and started to spit with rain. Looks like its in for the day too.
Anyway, a NSD on groceries yesterday - spent £20 on other things though! £15 to the gardener (I'm allergic to everything and would just have mud if it were up to me!) and £4.50 at fat club - I did lose 3lbs in weight though:j
That's 6 1/2 lbs now in two weeks -- I only want to lose a stone so I'm just a smidge off half way there. I think meal planning, cooking more from scratch and eating more fruit and veg is definitely helping as for both weeks of the diet so far I have been "good" and stuck to it for 6 days and had a relaxed day on the Saturday - I haven't gone bonkers but have had a few drinks or some chocs at the cinema etc.
Tea tonight is bangers and mash (induced by the yukky weather) - butcher bangers for the OH and dog and Quorn ones for me. I'm not sure whether to have beans or peas and gravy with it - both are just shoved in the microwave so it doesn't really matter and I can make a spur of the moment decision - I live life on the wild side don't I !;)
The last of my bland quiche is in my lunchbox - will be glad to see the back of it but I'm determined not to throw it away!
Should be a NSD today too - fingers crossed.
Have a good soggy day!

Seem to be doing OK so far this month:
tesco shop - £70 (some of that will actually carry over to next month)
other shopping
£7 - fresh fish (enough for 2 or 3 meals)
£15 - fruit and veg
£6 - other bits and pieces (milk, bread, eggs)
total so far £98, have done a meal plan for next week and a half which only invovles buying 1 can salmon aside from 'daily' things.
I expect to spend £5-10 a week on 'daily' stuff, fruit/veg, milk, bread. I am making bread though today as just finished homemade yesterday. DH won;t eat the HM bread but I eat loads of bread so even just my stuff its going to be a saving.
shopping list for this weekend:
can of salmon
veg (carrots and a white cabbage and any other cheap veg - have potatoes and onions)
cottage cheese
tomatoes
milk
fruit
sliced loaf
burger baps
Orange juice
I want some tortilla wraps but think i've got some hidden in the cupboard. If I can't find them I may have a shot at making something similar.
Lunches (mainly just me, sandwiches on days I go to the gym then onto work in the afternoon)
W Veggie saus sandwich (sausages cooked last night for pasta with saus and broccoli)
T Sandwich
F Bean salad (make)
S lunch out (treat lunch in town with DS and DH for mortgage apt - buying new house!) Budgeting £20 for this, I do have £20 tokens from tesco that I can use in Yates so will try there which woudl cut the cost!
S Mac cheese (make double)
M salmon savoury (make)
T sandwich
W coleslaw (make)
T bread and pate and salad
F burger (veggie burgers from freezer bought on 2for1)

Halia - Mrs M added a recipe for chewy tortillas that are very easy to make and freeze well! The link will be on angelnikki's post on the first page!
Kaat - well wishes for your DH!0 -
