I only make the dough in my BM, then i cook it in the oven. I have a humongous 3lb loaf tin which makes proper big loaves:D Lasts about 2/3 days in here, depending who needs sandwiches/toast etc.

Now that is a good idea, I think I will try that one.
Will let you know how it turns out,
Tha only thing is, I dont know how to do just the dough, I dont even know if my bm would do just the dough or if I would have to stop it my self, I will go and have a look.
    Wish me luck, lol

Hi Cam, have you seen the recipe index that Angelnikki has put on the first page of the challenge? It has loads of things that could be made with chicken and mince. >One that has come to me was moussaka with the ingredients you have, using layers of potatoes and mince with cinammon and herbs and the really light moussaka topping you make with egg.
    >What about fajitas with the chicken? Really easy and Mrs M's tortilla recipe is great for homemade ones.
    >Or a curry with the tomatoes and onions and some spices.
    >There is a great chinese chicken that you can make by mixing up equal amounts of honey and soy sauce with a little chinese 5 spice, just chop chicken into small pieces and marinade in the sauce for an hour then stir fry with some veggies.
    >I like the recipe finder on the sainsbury's website where you can put in your ingredients and it suggests things you can do with them

    HI Sian

Thanks for the info, I didnt know about the sainsburys website, very interesting.
I did know about the recipe page thing but didnt know if it would be easier to ask rather than keep looking at recipes, but then again I do like the sound of what you have said.

    Thank you:beer:

Herewegoagain - sorry to hear of your bereavement. Hope you're OK
Cammumof3 - no idea why your carrot leaves have turned red, but it might just be the variety. Some carrots have green cores for the same reason. Do the carrots look OK?
    BB - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Lost track of my nsd's but Sunday was one, yesterday another and no reason why today shouldn't be one as well. Might have to buy milk before my first big shop of September.

    Hi gillaman

Thanks, yeah my carrots do look fine, it's only a few that have leaves going red, but they are all from the same packet, weird.
But may be as you say its just the way are

Thanks for the link...only problem is our nearest stockist (other than the co-op 2 minutes away) is in York! It'd cost me more in ruddy diesel to travel there so I'll just keep plodding away with the co-op for now - but thanks again, much appreciated.

Do they not deliver? sorry, thought it might be more use than that. Still cheaper than the loaf tho eh! can't believe you pay so much for such a small loaf - just proves a point that they charge throught the nose to anyone with something that is not ordinary or if they need it... sorry, rambling again...:D

I imagine it will have just a dough setting, can you make pizza bases etc in it?

    Hello all

Can you please give me a clue what you 'include' in your grocery challenge budget? I've seen some of you say that you don't include this that or the other? Should I just purely count groceries?

My £400 target for the month was inclusive of everything - food, loo rolls, bathroom products (deodorant, shampoo etc), wine/cider (:o ) laundry products, dog food, rabbit food, chicken food - everything but clothes or household items etc.

If I go on just pure groceries i.e. food items then I reckon it'd be a darn sight easier for me to come in under budget...:D

    What are your thoughts?...
We include food, toiletries, baby stuff (the odd pack of wipes or nappies but he is a real nappy baby), pet food, cleaning and laundry products, loo rolls.
We don't drink or smoke so thats not included. This is for 2 adults and a 14 months old, oh yeah and a nice white kitty cat.
Used to include the odd takeaway but that comes from treats now.
I have budgets for pretty much every category you can think of.
TBH, I am finding that my spending is greatly reduced when we don't throw anything away, as much as when we watch what we buy.
I am also an opportunist- buying BOGOF/whoopsied stuff/offered when I see it and building a menu round that as much as we can, although obviously things like fruit and veg/milk/yogs etc are bought whether they are on offer or not as we need them regardless. We do sometimes buy butcher meat too which can cost more but is worth it (rather have good stuff less often than crap meat everyday iykwim). I bake a lot (cakes, bread-sometimes, cookies-see above, biccies, scones, basically most treat bakes) and also buy whoopsied bread (currently have about 4 loaves in the freezer, all half price ones) so its there when we need to take one out. Wish I had a bigger/better freezer though, hence saving toward that now.

    Evening Everyone,

herewegoagain, here is a link for a flask that i got from Aldi for OH today. Not sure if it would be any good but basically the idea is you put the food in and heat it up in the microwave and then it keeps the food warm for up to 6 hours

Aldi were selling them for £4.99
