Ok... *Takes a deep breath*. My September starts on Monday 25 August so I am about to declare my first monthly budget. My OH and I are still not 100% in agreement as to what we include, despite us discussing it this morning (couldn't do it before as he was too poorly with the flu), but I think we came to a decision.
So.... Looking at all the receipts from the last 5 wks, I would like to declare MY BUDGET FOR SEPTEMBER WILL BE £375.
This probably seems quite a lot but we spent nearly £570 last month (we had 3 takeaways!) and there are only 2 big eating adults and one piglet cat; but we are including cleaning products and loo rolls and toiletries etc in this. Plus the fat cats incredibly over-priced cat food as she won't eat anything else..:rotfl:
We don't drink much, nor smoke and we are going to try and factor a takeaway at least once during the month.
Ok.. *relaxes again* That is done now and I can't go back on it!
Looking forward to a great month!
*Runs off to edit her siggy*

Hi everyone!
I've now got £29 left for the final Saturday of this month...I may just squeak it but hopefully if I do go over it won't be by much. Normally I allow £40 pw but I docked off £20 for this 5 week month so I will have spent less really:D My budget excludes meals out - we went out for a 2 course for a fiver per head this week at a local fish place:p I include all my cleaning stuff and loo paper in my budget but psycho cat has another pot for her. I discovered yesterday that Savers do some green eco cleaning products which are about a third less than I've been paying for Mr T OB so if you're passing might be worth a nose:D
See you all over on the September challenge!!

Morning all
Schuey ..i include cleaning, toiletries etc in my budget ...but rarely alcohol  -Hubby is more aware of how much he is drinking if it comes from his own spends...i occasionally throw in a bottle of red for him..but his fave is €1.29 a bottle-so i think i can spare that :rotfl: and it is almost like port:T ,
Well hubby has gone golfing, so I have stuck another bowl of bread dough to prove and other than that im planning on doing very little..
lunch/dinner today (depending on what time hubby gets in) is going to be sausage "1 pot wonder"... big chunks of potato and onions with hm sausages and hg carrots roasted in the oven, then a bit of gravy so they finish off part roast/part stewed -sounds odd -but tastes yummy -will do peas n cabbage with it i think...
My 2nd NSD in a row -my new month starts tomorrow -but im determined to get to saturday without spending ...so hopefully 7 NSDs in a row.
This month i have figured that i have little or no freezer room for any more fresh "whoopsie" bargains..and as i have 90% of what i need for this month I'm going to start adding a few extra store items to my shopping... suet, pasta, rice, beans, pulses etc .... Want to get a decent store built up ready for the winter -just in case;)
Right im off back to my x stitch :j
have a great day everyone..not long now and we get a shiney new budget/thread :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Just popped on to say there is no MOC in the News of the World for MrT this week
so only a little shop for me today free range eggs if the car boot is on.
Have a good dayGC July £250/0 -
Morning!...Bit grey still & a tad damp, but the eldest offspring is still going to Monkey World with friends----ooooh to have such youthful abandon!
Another NSD for me yesterday cuz the said day tripper didn't like my suggestions for picnic stuff we had in & went & bought their own:o
oooooh to have such youthful deep pockets!!:D
As technically today is No2 offspring's payday, I shall :T :j Declare August at £280:34:j :T please, & stay with my usual £350 for September.
May I just say a Big THANKYOU to both AngelNikki & MrsMc for looking after us so well.....an excellent partnership that works well together, like tea & toastRight--that's done it! I'm off to find me brekki :rotfl:

Good Morning
I thought yesterday's sunshine was too good to last!! It's pouring with rain today - and I sooo wanted to cut the grass!
Only a small top-up yesterday - bananas and clemtines for our brekkie fruit fix. Yesterday we had hm meatballs in mushroom sauce with rice and peas with nectarines for afters. Yummie.
Today it will be roast beef and yorkshires. I shall use up the Aunt Bessie's in the freezer (left over from the bad old days - waste not want not and all that!) with roast pots and carrot and swede mash. This is a rare treat for us. We don't eat so much red meat as trying to live healthily, but dh asked and I shall deliver. :A We'll have strawberries and blueberries for afters.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,
Encouraged along by the rest of you I've decided to get myself back on the GC for September and try for £75.
I'm away for the first week and so haven't included that in the budget, so that will take me till the next payday on 26th Sectember.
Looking forward to this now.. I always feel insecure when I'm just spending willie nillie.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
