Morning all
Back to the NSDs for me :T ....I have declared my spends now -so no excuses for getting anything else, a new month starts on Monday and im hoping to get to the weekend before i have to break into it -fingers crossed;)
So far this morning i have got a bowl of dough proving -poached egg on toast for tea :j and peeled some of the 10lb of apples and got them stewing with the few blackberries i got... i don't think im going to need to add sugar:D ..im not doing the rest of the apples just yet as im thinking of making a chutney using an aubergine and some tomatoes out of the garden...just need to pick up some vinegar on Monday if i decide to do it..(which means i wouldn't make it to saturday with NSDs) so if i want NSDs until Saturday i will stew the rest of the apples off and roast the veggies for pasta sauces
I just need to get my yoghurt maker on and then im about done for the day..going to x stitch as the weather is to icky to do much else -thats my excuse and im sticking to it
right i will get off.. have a great day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Two NSDs to add on to my talley & fingers X today will be another--can't actually  of anything but I'll not scupper my chances by making promises I can't keep

You're so organised it's scary Mrs M :P
If I were closer to you I'd give you my vinegar so you could have NSD's till next weekend
Have you ever made rose hip jelly? I'm after a tried-and-tested recipe, have posted on the Homemade Jam thread but no luck yet.
Have a good day all

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Hi Kymbogs -its organised chaos..trust me lol
Nope, Im affraid i have never made any..in fact i have never made any jams/chutneys :rotfl: ...Its not something we will get through much of.. i got myself a lovely jam pan and thermometer but when we moved out here i left it with my mum to "look after"-didn't think i would get much use of it out here and mum makes mean tickabilly (piccalili), and jams/chutneys..
I have decided not to make the chutney.. i will roast off the veggies for pasta etc and freeze them -that way i can have NSDs until saturdayplus-the veggies will become part of a meal rather than an accompaniment;)
right off i go again..Must get mums x stitch done for xmas-preferably THIS ONE :rotfl:

Well, I think I may just creep in below budget this month - but only because we've been away! Just off to shops now, then I'll come back with the final total.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Hi everyone, just noticed the whole blue sky and sun scenario, wow... very surprised!
I have updated my totals for this month - I have been using www.spendingdiary.com to log all grocery spend and it;s fab. You just need your first and last name, and a password, to log in.
You can create categories as needed just by typing them in, like 'Groceries' and then see how much you are spending as you go...
I made Portuguese Custard Cakes (Pasteis de Nata) yesterday for a colleague at work's birthday, then also homemade yoghurt and we ate the homemade sag aloo curry we'd frozen - felt so great that it was all packaging/transport and mostly preservative free - also of course cheaper than bought.
We only plan to buy a handful of things to get us through this week, like eggs, bread, salad, ham, tomatoes etc. Hopefully I will be reporting £100 spend by the end of the month, £20 underbudget!MFW #185

Hi all
A sunny one so far here in Yorkshire - wow - really unfamiliar brightness...
Thanks to all good wishes for the return of Pixie the !!!!! cat - she has eaten well & is bossing her chum like mad. I think he's quite put out that she's come back. Anyhow, will get them chipped because I daren't let them out until I have.
Dinner last night ended up being HM sticky salmon, the stir fry that was j-u-s-t about to go over & HM egg fried rice. I also made a apple & blackberry crumble wih a few windfalls - too tiny really - and another couple of manky apples from the fruit bowl, mmm it was lovely. Today not sure what to have for lunch, better get thinking cap on, maybe roasted red pepper hummus/pitta breads but if so I have to make both of those. Dinner maybe curry or I might cheat & have chilli that I already have made.
Hope everyone has lovely weather for the weekend, hopefully another NSD today & tomorrow although hoping to go to a car boot sale - GC budget not usually required for that trip.New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Morning all
Yay - the sun is shining. Hugs to all who are down and congrats to all who are up!!
Ok - so currently spent £175.64 from budget - that leaves £73.36 to last until 4th Sept. My brother is coming to vist this weekend - and bringing me a few bits from MrM, will owe him a couple of quid, also need to buy a happy chicken from Waitrose (£5ish - but will stretch to loads of meals)
Breadmaker was put on last night to finish at 10 this morning, also made my first lot of yoghurt with my car boot Easyio - next lot will be made with a tub of yoghurt and milk method!
Going to do some batch cooking today - have a smallish freezer, but think if I plan right I could do this most weekends and eat easy meals during the week?? Hm - need to think about this and also get another freezer!!
Anyway - hope you all have good weekends - enjoy the extra day!

Off to get DS's new shoes as he's gone up a size but thats not from GC budget (thankfully as they can be expensive for wee toes).
