Hello all!
We spent a fortune on food for a big barbecue on Saturday, and Father in law brought a load more round, then we had to cancel due to the weather!
Hopefully we can fit it in the freezer and share out between family, can't bear the thought of any of it going to waste.
Spends so far stands at £159.24, which is just over half way through my target of £300, including the barbecue spends, so not bad so far.

Grocery Challenge: September: £1.75/£2000 -
I've eventually added up my receipts for the first week of the month. So we have just over £60 to last the month. Fingers crossed we should be OK, as we tend to do our big shop at the start of the month and just top up with milk and fresh stuff during the month. Using stuff that we have grown in the garden will also help keep that cost down, although we haven't grown masses of stuff. Will do much more next year in the garden.:o0

We are in the challenge allowing for 2 adults. We only spent £13 this weekend, taking us to £34 for the month to date, I don't expect to need much this week, so if we spend £20 for each of the 3 remaining weekends, then we'll be underbudget!

Hello everybody! Mind if I join?
Budget for groceries for the month for me + eternally hungry bf - £130
Spent so far: £15.79, £34.63. £6.72 - all Mr T. Have an order arriving tomorrow with lots of BOGOF so I'll let you know how much that ends up...
Have seen that a lot of you are doing much much better than that so I've got something to aim towards!
I've never really thought about how much we spend on groceries etc and when you add it all up it's scary! Time for a change. Have got the bf taking packed lunch to work for the first time in years so hopefully that'll cut costs! Plus I've started baking and cooking (turns out I'm quite good at both lol there's a surprise!)0 -

hi all, and welcome to any newbies that have just joined us
kaat lady hope you're feeling ok today. i saw that archie has wandered off somewhere...i hope you manage to find him. he must have wanted somewhere quiet. i'm thinking of you both xx
i've just had Dylan (youngest yorkie) to the vets for his booster (i save my 20p's to pay for their jabs) however, literally about 2mins before i took him, he snapped one of his teeth in half.......turns out he's still got his 4 baby canines, even tho his 'big' teeth have come thru. so he has to have them pulled out in the morning as a matter of urgency. i'm having to borrow the £140 off my mum to pay for it as i couldn't get him booked in to the PDSA until the end of next week  so belts are definitely gonna have to be tightened for the rest of this month.....don't know what i'd do without my mum to help me out at times like this :A
well at least my freezers are chocka-full at the mo, so if i'm REALLY strict with myself, i shouldn't really have to buy much for the rest of the month (famous last words!)
just had a HM seedy bun for lunch with salad and ham....really filling! got chicken kievs in the freezer for tea tonight for me and DS15, as DD18 is away for a few days, so at least i don't have to feed here as well!
hope everyone's being good, and not spending much0 -
Need to stop spending.I've spent over half my budget already but I do have lots in and the wine was reduced to clear. My head can testify it was very nice too!Hope everyone else is doing fine."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Well I've lost the plot
My current total is £74.56/£40
I have stocked up on a load of whoopsies in Asda yesterday and some bits in Tescos, then the gravest mistake of all - I went to HomeBargains and bought stuff in there as well. I've spent £34 in two days on groceriesI still need to buy milk, and I'll need fruit. Going to go and put all I've bought into mysupermarket and see how much I've saved, that might make me feel a little better
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
