Yes, tried that several times, no joy. My son has had no problems with his, he just downloaded it and it worked fine.

I recently began using FF, I think you need to ensure you have the FF version of the plugin in some cases.

It's sites with animations and photos.

How do I get FF plugins?

I asked what sites because we'd be able to find out what plugins you need. Type in google "firefox plugins" and you find an abundance of them mainly on the mozilla website. If you're using firefox then you'll be able to install them straight away restart and they'll work.

Thanks for your replies, I'm going to give it another go.

One last question, how do I keep IE? Yesterday I had to go to restore point, but I've heard people use both and switch between both.

Firefox doesn't replace IE. Therefore you still have all the shortcuts and menu entries for IE.

You can use have both browsers installed at the same time.

There is a setting in both (often pops up at startup of the browser) to set it as the "default" browser for your system. With a bit of adjusting you can change that setting between the two without needing to use anything as drastic as system restore.

I'm sorry you are having problems. I've been using Firefox since it was at version 0.x. Plugins have always been a bit of a hassle, but it shouldn't be as bad now as it once was. Make sure that a Firefox version of any plugin that works under IE is installed again after Firefox is installed, otherwise Firefox will not see a version that it can work with.
