eBay credit card alerts?

Well i hope i don't lose my account and member id etc..i mean i'm not intending to sell anything else..i'll take a risk and not update..0

I think the absolute worst that could happen is they suspend your account until you give them the details, but I really can't even see that happening. Even people that get kicked off after getting strikes on their account can get reinstated.0

I don't see why you would need to update them, as, in theory, you could delete the card from paypal altogether and fund your payments by other means. But this is ebay telling you to update them. Did I mention I was confused?
When you registered with ebay originally you might have had to give credit card details. Not for selling but for verification of who you are.
This only happens if you try to use a webmail adress "hotmail, Gmail etc" or a lesser known ISP email to sign up.
That card is then tied to your account and you cannot open another account using the same card.
If this is the case then your acount may be limited until you update your card details with the new expiry date and security code.
Log in directly through ebay and not through a link from an email etc. Go to your account settings and change it there.0 -

I was unaware that signups using hotmail etc., required further verification though. Clearly, many people are unaware that an infinite number of free email addresses are offered by a number of organisations, one of which I used to sign up to ebay with no extra info required. Anyone is able to register a credit card/bank details. However, on the basis of bjo's post, it seems once you do there's no escape.0
