earlgrey, kindly stop the baseless attacks on dunstonh. Dunstonh is an IFA and as such is required to offer a fee only service if a customer wants that. Dunstonh also knows and has told you of some of the cases where it can be beneficial for the customer to use commission to pay some or all of the fee.
What dunstonh has been describing here and apparently does already is what the Financial Services Authority is advocating in its Retail Distribution Review as the way to reduce the chance for bias in product selection by IFAs. Doing what the FSA is after even before it's necessary isn't something to criticise, it's something to complement.
That is, you're criticising one of the good guys who's leading the way forward into improved services for consumers.0 -

Chris
did you have to drag up an old thread to ask your question? Especially one like this.
Investments have their own protection which is independent of the deposits protection. The bank is the retailer of the product. Not the actual provider or underwriter.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Love you too. hahaha 0
