Battery life? Advice sought!
My beloved Nokia 6310i has finally died. I brought it back into use when I finally chucked my last Motorola V3i into a drawer in disgust, sick of the terrible battery life and unreliable keypad.
The Nokia was fabulous, but now I need to replace it. All I want is a phone on which I can send the occasional text message. If I have to have cameras, music players and all the rest, so be it, but they don't matter. What does is a long interval between charges and a good build quality.
I've tried the new Sony Ericsson C902 but either the sample I had was faulty or it can't hang onto a signal here (though the 6310i and a 3310 can, with ease), so can anyone suggest anything that might fit the bill?
Or would I be better buying a working 6310i and driving down a sim-only deal with my provider (O2)?
I really would value people's opinions

You won't get batter battery life than a 6310. My wife's is held together with elastic bands at at the moment as she can't find anything that comes close.
The newer phones have some much software whizzing round in them the battery runs down in about 2 days max.0 -
Having had the Sony k810i for over 12 months, its still going like clockwork - I use it to play games for hours on end, the light is on all the time - I receive calls and make calls - the battery just keeps going and going.
For me it has the best battery life of any phone I have seen. Whether you can get this phone now I dont think you can - or a hybrid type -you can pick it up from ebay still though.0 -
I've had a K800i for the better part of 2 years, the battery's not as great as it used to be but I get 4-5 days out of it unless I make some long calls. It's essentially the same phone as the K810i (only the phone body changed, electronically they're practically identical), so this series is a winner IMHO.
As a rule when choosing a mobile phone, the fewer the features, the longer the battery life. So pick a 'basic' model and it will most likely last longer. A phone without 3G (if you don't need the fast data connection) will generally have better battery life as well.
I used to have a Nokia 3350 (rather bricky, huge battery, no colour screen, pure calls and texts) which when new could go almost 2 weeks without recharging. I still keep it as a spare.0
