i have tried to install flash 9 on my laptop but i am having no luck.
it was working until i had a big problem with my hard drive and had to take it in to the shop to get repaired as windows would not boot up.
when i install it , it says i have the latest version and the movie on the adobe page works but when i try to view a video clip or get my auctiva scrolling gallery to work it says i need install latest version of flash.
i am on windows xp
using AOL
any help please?

Don't know if this will work for you or not but I had a similar problem with the flash player ( I also have XP and aol) - but I started using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer & suddenly the flash player worked when I used Firefox ( still doesn't work with IE ) ( incidentally I much prefer Firefox anyway now!)0

I don't use the aol software to get onto aol now, I just go through Firefox and bring up the general aol site to get / send my emails( the one you would use to access aol from a PC that's not your own). When I did use the aol software to go on the internet it was using internet explorer, not Firefox, so the flash player wasn't working.
TBH I'm no expert and I just found the solution by accident ( someone had recommended Firefox to me and I gave it a go, the flash player working was an unexpected bonus). But it drove me mad for months before that trying to fix it, tweaking things on Internet Explorer, allowing this and banning that & I didn't know what I was doing and nothing worked.0 -

i installed firefox and flash works fine on it but still not on AOL.
you shouldnt have to use it though to view flash content. there must be a way round it and hopefully someone will find this thread and have an idea on how to sort it!
