Our postie is very good. If he has to deliver anything that won't go through the letterbox, he leaves it in the back porch. We only lock that door at night.

I won tickets to last Sunday's Birkdale Golf Championship. They were posted on the Wednesday (and the postmark confirms this). They turned up this morning with the "signed for bit" peeled off (I didn't sign it).

    I couldn't go as I didn't have the tickets - what a waste of £110....

My last postie NEVER knocked on my door, just sneaked the little red card through my letter box and I had to collect at the sorting office.

After this went on for several months, I got up early one morning (postie comes at about 7am) and sat behind the door with nice mug of coffee, the little red card came through right on cue.

I quicky opened the door and asked for the parcel - he never even had the parcel with him. It was in his van a the top of the street  - I told him to get back up the road to his van and bring me the parcel as the Royal Mail is supposed to be a delivery service and not a storage service!:rotfl:

Funnily enough the post man always rang twice after that :T

Wow, I'm glad I have a decent postie after reading some of these posts! Having said that, I haven't really won all that much anyway... and nothing of a particularly high value. But still, I haven't had any problems.

:rotfl: yes, he likes to grab the post from the postie when it comes through the box as he spends so long outside the front door messing about :D It would be fine if the dog was asleep and didn't have time to get to the door

Now with a cage even less stuff fits through

My postie has left things for me before outside, and has also signed for small things he can put through the letter box (not left any of those outside) and ive been grateful for that, it saves me having to go to the sorting office - i will be asking my neighbours to look out for anything when we go away for a couple of days in August, just in case!!

we used to have a wonderful post man but now it seems they just don't care. I ordered a pair of proper £140 ugg boots before christmas and i was getting very flappy after three weeks when they hadn't turned up, rang ugg who could prove they sent them, then RM who were rubbish and were no help at all, then one day had a knock from one of the students next door with them, they had just been sitting in next doors house and they all had broken up, noone was home to bring them round to me! but honestly, no note or card or "this is where we have put your expensive boots" or anything... and they once left my massive quaterly delivery from hq hair on the doostep! If anyone had of been off with that i would have been devastated! thankfully we don't live on a particularly busy road but still... and also have the same drive ****** /road ****** problem, once had a sat nav delivered not for me! :( !
