Loads of OH's work shirts have white marks under the arms.
I assume they are from deoderant and I can't get them off, they just keep building up.
Any ideas on how to remove them please?

Try white vinegar - spray a little on the marks and leave for half an hour then wash the shirts normally."This site is addictive!"

If you look in the Cleaning section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the forum there are a few more suggestions listed under clothes that might help you.

Okay thanks!
I tried searching within this board but it didn't bring anything up.
I caught OH about to throw three shirts away the other day as he thought it was irreperable, and I toldhim off, so I need to remove them to prove my point..heheheeMembre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
If I stain my shirts with white deodorent, I simply apply some red deodorant, its the same principle as when you spill wine.0

Jesus, I'm in a silly mood anyway today but for some reason can't stop laughing now...Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
You can apply this principle to many areas, once I dropped a milky bar onto a new suit on the way to a wedding, it was a hot day, but my quick thinking saved the siuation, I simply applied some high cocoa cotent chocolate and hey presto the white chocolate was no longer my problem.0

Hi all,
I have a bunch of work shirts that are all fine, except that a few of them have white marks under the arms that I just can't seem to get rid of.
I don't want to have to replace the shirts if I can help it wondered if anyone had some miracle "Old Style" tips for getting rid of them?
I tried a stiff bristle brush with some vinegar and coarse salt to have a go at the marks but it doesn't really seem to have worked.
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance for your help0 -
Hi moneymagic,

Huge white deodorant marks on my tops!
I'll add your thread to the first link later to keep the suggestions together.

You didnt say what colour the shirts are and what material. Could you separate them into whites and coloureds and rewash them and see if that makes a difference. Sometimes washing shirts at 40 deg repeatedly makes them dingy and perhaps too much powder may be the reason? HTH0

Hi all,
I am new to this forum and I really need your help please!
I have been having problems removing perspiration & deodorant stains from my better half's work shirts.
I have tried a few of the suggested posts and nothing has worked.
Used white distilled vinegar & mixing it with a bit of water then leaving it over night, washed it out the following day and that didn't work, then on a different day I tried bicarb and water turning it into a paste & left it overnight, washed it out the next day plus tried using a bit of softener mixed with vinegar and that still didn't make the stain disappear.
Are there any other tips you could possibly suggest to me.
Thank you.0
