Porting an Orange (OVP Virgin) number but keeping OVP possible?
Hi,
This is an odd one, at the moment I have Orange SPV C600 and am looking to move onto O2 with an iPhone and I want to take my Orange number with me.
However, I like Orange OVP virgin tarrif and would like to keep it if at all possible with the SPV, is there a way to port my number to O2 and somehow get a new number and keep my Orange OVP virgin contract with Orange?
Cheers,
Mike

Well if you manage it I would love to know.
The way I see it is that to transfer your number to another network your need a PAC from Orange and a PAC (when used) instructs the initial network to close the account.
Good luck. I'm sure Orange would love to close your OVP Virgin account. We have three of them in this family and are hanging on tight.

Yeh, looks like its not possible. So will have to get a new number on o2 methinks as I want to keep the OVP virgin sim.

Absolutely!I want to keep the OVP virgin sim.
I guess in the 'older' Orange days you might have been able to speak to a helpful and capable customer agent who could play the system to give you what you want. I fear that those days are long gone now with everything being read from a script.

No, it's not possible.
The options are:
1) Keep number on OVP Virgin and do nothing
2) Move number to pay as you go - automatically closes OVP account as it has no number
3) Move from OVP to an animal contract - OVP would no longer be in effect
4) Get PAC code, move out to another network - automatically closes OVP account as it has no number
You could investigate getting a SIM Only plan as a "line 2", then switch the Line 1 (OVP) and Line 2 (SIMO) plan's numbers, then PAC out the Line 2 number (your current OVP number) from the SIMO plan to another network. Might work. Maybe
