British Gas Home Care and FSA Compliance

Last year I took out a British Gas Home Care 400 policy to cover any and all problems with my heating and hot water etc.

However, today I called them out for the first time (other then there initial safty check) to be told that my hot water tank has suddenly developed a blockage due to scale and that it is not covered by the policy. I am now facing a repair bill of £1200 from British Gas to fix something I was told would be covered:mad:    . Great, so I have paid out over £300 in the last year to have some guy tell me its not covered. Pfft

My question is: Is the Home Care Policy covered by the FSA? I know AA Breakdown cover is and as both policys are more or less the same in that you are insuring against a Faliure.

I have written a letter to British Gas Customer Care but having surffed the net and read other's experiences with B.G.C.C. I am expecting a long pointless fight.
