Wanted to start this early as i had my first successful real money savers weekend this weekend, and wanted to ride on the joy of it all!
Went to market and got a really good range of fruits and veg for £6, saving about £10 from my usual somerfield bill, plus OH really got a buzz from coming to market with me and seeing me haggle. Said he loved doing things like that together :j ! So my somerfield bill was a mere £17, mainly buying tinned veg, plus I managed to scrape together Friday dinner and Saturday lunch from last weeks leftovers (jacket Potato and left over chilli Fri, cherry tomato tart using "on the turn" tomatoes and left over pastry for Sat lunch) and only had a light dinner for Saturday night. OH remarked how he'd realised that we didn't have to have huge meals each time as he tucked into his scrambled eggs on toast with grated carrot salad!
This weekend was Christmas cake weekend and I was really worried that buying all those ingredients would send my shopping bill over the edge, but then remember nectar points from my heady old days of Sainsbury shopping. Had £27.50 in vouchers, which more than covered the costs! Also had our first crack at making bread, was a good texture but the loaf tin was too small, next time will just make a shape on a baking tray and bake that.
Went for our walk on Sunday along the Thames, District line is being repaired so we could only go as far as Hammersmith on the tube, then the rail replacement bus was free! So we only paid for a zone two return! On the walk I discussed the possibility of getting a second job to help us through Christmas. OH had previously been reticent but this time was more open to the idea and even thought over getting a weekend bar job for himself. All good until found out Sainsburys are only taking on Christmas staff mid-November
Today I came in by bus because cycling is worring my knee injury, then bought some ibuprofen for said injury: total spend so far £2.89, probably spend 60p on a salad to go with my home-made (under proportioned) bread sandwiches, then need some milk and porridge oats etc tonight.
Happy saving!

I've just given 40p to a colleague to buy me a carrot and banana as snacks but I expect change!
Supermarket tonight - have costed it online and it should be about £9. Yay!
Have done a meal planner this week to force me to use the stuff in the freezer that I don't fancy any more  so am just buying some veg, stuff for lunches and cat food. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

nothing yesterday

: )
( ok ok so i had to get someone to lock me in the house, freeze my credit cards in mushy peas and tie me to the kitchen sink - but hey - at least i wont be over budget this month ! lol )0 -
I spent a bit more than I wanted over the weekend (ok, so noone was holding a gun to my head, but..):
£32.15 in Boots. 3 for 2 Sanctuary Body Scrub, 3 for 2 Mouthwash, 3 for 2 Garnier Moisturiser, Cotton Buds & Ear Plugs
(these will probably last me 6 months, so its not too bad, just a shock paying the amount all in one go...)
£5.00 on Batteries, 3 for £5 (i.e. 3 packs of 4), rather than £3.49 each...
£15.20 Takeaway. But I did have it sat night & for sunday lunch :0) Ok, it was worth a try :0) - this is a one off, doesnt happen all the time..
Today I half have my lunch in, but need to buy a sarnie, also some groceries for at home, am stuck for ideas on what to eat/cook though - skintchick, if you want to email me your meal planner it would be much appreciated :0)
Been back to the gym, so went sat, sun & this morning, so feel heaps better for that.
Tondella - glad you had a good weekend, keep up the good work. It just goes to show that you can have a nice time without spending money!!!

£2.44 but that was posting an eBay parcel. I sold a velvet jacket this weekend - quite a wrench because it was gorgeous but i'll never turn into a bloke with a 44 inch chest so it'll never fit me. Only another £6 to my paypal account & i can withdraw the balance.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0

Tesco - just go online, pretend you want to shop, click it all into your basket, have a look round the special offers, too (they are doing baby lotion two for one and I use that as cleanser, so might grab some) it gives you a total, then just close the window!
If you use a lcubcard they know everything you buy and it is in your favourites, which helps with tracking stuff down uickly if, like me, you buy the same stuff every week!!
Ms_London - my meal planner is just a list of what I am going to cook depending on what is in my freezer right now (lots of fish for some reason) and what else I have hanging around, so not sure it would be much use to you?
Tonight I am having either roasted veg with pasta and pesto or fish in butter sauce with mash and sweetcorn. Depends if Tesco has the pesto and/or the sweetcorn when I get there! :j

I hope you don't mind me storming in here... this is my first post in one of these threads.
Kind of expensive day today, spent:
£170 - Road tax (always a pleasure)
£0.79 - 1st Class Postage on a parcel I sold for almost £27
Not too bad a day really I guess, road tax had to be paid and the parcel pays off my debt to Paypal (got scammed by a buyer).
May be going to the pub to play pool and have a couple bevvies tonight, but it is my week off and I haven't had a drink for over a week, so I'm doing well!Personal ISA Contributions Challenge - current £0 (as at 1 April 2014) / target £15,000 (deadline 31 Mar 2015)0
