Had my Virgin deal revised. DO IT!!!

I thought I'd post this as I was one of those dawdling people who hadn't revised my internet and phone package for years:o
Today I took the bull by the horns and phoned Virgin as I was paying £18 for my broadband (Size M), £11 for phone line rental, plus £1.75 for caller display.
When I phoned I chose the menu option which corresponded to 'thinking of leaving them'
When I spoke to them I just asked if they could do me a better deal.
Anyway, I now have the same package for £18.25 per month instead of £30.75:eek: It was also brought to my attention that I have free weekend calls, which I hadn't been taking advantage of:rolleyes:
No doubt there are cheaper deals around, but I wanted to stay with Virgin as I've been happy with the service (and don't have a BT line anyway).
So if anyone else is dawdling like I was, all I can say is "Pick the phone up and ask for a better deal....they don't bite!":rotfl:

were you coming to the end of your contractNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
I did a similar thing.
I have been with them for just over a year and phoned them to see if they could give me a better deal. I didn't even say that I was thinking of switching.
They gave me free weekday calls, as well as the weekend that I already had, and reduced my monthly charge to £18.50 for phone and broadband.:T
They called it a loyal customer rate!
Yes, I am loyal to my wallet!!!:rotfl:0 -

Hi Ronaldo,
I took out a 12 month contract about 3 years ago and just hadn't questioned my charges until now:o
That may sound a bit dim, but I'm sure there are loads of other people who just keep on paying without questioning things, especially when they don't have a BT line (just as some people keep renewing their insurance with the same company without phoning around....thought I've never done that! :rotfl: ).0 -
