Setting up a new TV....HELP!

Yes I did and then I went through it again step by step as I was setting it up. The section that tells me to "scan for the channels" comes up with 0 channels found
That's because you're not doing it using an RF cable.
Tune the DVD recorder to AV1 or whatever the AV socket is called that links to the Cable box. To record off the cable box, you'll need to have the recorder set to that input.0
