If it's any use Tchibo have laptops for £399.00 from tomorrow, here's the advert0

The seller's feedback is good @ a score of 99.4%. In all he has 178 positives, 168 of which are from individual people. He's been registered since April 2003 and the 1 neg as mentioned above is from a newbie bidder.
Also, in the auction itself, it clearly states the auction payment terms. There is no mention of accepting COD:
"PAYMENT MUST BE VIA CHEQUE OR POSTAL ORDERS AND MUST BE RECIEVED WITHIN 48HOURS OF THE WINNING BID AND MUST BE SENT TO..."
Therefore, why should he accept it? The address is also visible on the auction page too..is that the one he wants yous to send payment to? According to the auction write he's just moved house. This might explain the different address thing."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
hi, dont know if you ever resolved this one, I just wanted to add a little obvious thing...
If you do meet him in person, make sure your boyfriend or someone goes with you and let a 3rd person know the address etc...
I know its pretty obvious nowadays but still worth pointing out i think
Dont want to meet some random by yourself .... that goes for males and females.
LLol_slimembarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0 -

and dell are doing some top spec laptops now for just over £500 and if you buy through greasypalm you will get a cashback.there is also some other posts on the forum for dell for you to get even more monies of if oyu remove the 90 day return/pickup if theres a fault, but your not gonna get a fault with what is basically a toshiba laptop in a dell housingneed to have a lightbulb moment0 -
He MIGHT be up to no good, but equally, he might be a genuine seller who is wary of you, as someone who wants to collect in person and pay cash on collection. I'd be as wary as you, I must admit, but I was just thinking about it from a different angle.

I've just re-read his auction write up. Not sure if this is the reason he's not replying-
"IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE SEND THEM TO !!*Read the auction for email add*} NOT VIA THE 'ASK SELLER' OPTION ON EBAY AS I MAY NOT REPLY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS - BY THEN THE AUCTION MAY HAVE ENDED."
Also, you never mentioned that he wanted the cheque made out to another name, just the fact that he wanted it sent to another address???"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
