Virgin are currently offering a FREE Wireless Router to anyone who has L Broadband, I unfortunately only had M Broadband and was feeling hard done by in the possibility of having to pay £40!
So I phoned up retentions and asked them how I could get one for FREE and I was told to temporarily up my Broadband from M to L so he could place the order through, so I went ahead! Three days later, my FREE Wireless Router arrived and rung up Virgin to put my Broadband back to M.
No cost incurred and a FREE Wireless Router! Result!!

Does this apply to VIP package? is it permantly free, or do you have to give it back if you stop using Virgin? Also where is this offer? it aint on their website.0

You might have incurred a start of a new 12 month contract by changing packages, you might want to double check just to ensure.0

Does anyone know if you actually own the Virgin wireless router? I got one but didn't open it and used my own. If I own the Virgin one I could try to sell it for £40 or so. :-)0

The small print says your have to pay £40 for it.
"Free wireless router offer: - Wireless enabled equipment required. Available to all new Broadband customers taking our Size: L and Size: XL Broadband services (subject to status and credit checks). A non-refundable, one time service charge of £40 will apply to all new Broadband customers taking our Size: M Broadband service and all existing Broadband customers taking the wireless router. Should you sign up to our Size: L or Size: XL Broadband service and subsequently downgrade to Size: M within your minimum contract period you will be required to pay the service charge for the wireless router, currently £40. I found out the model of the router and looked up price runner, think you can get it for about £26 but that was a month ago, I haven't checked since.0
