Pay twice for the same UK call

Just a new Vodafone EXTRA VALUE item

If you have a contract with vodafone you can now pay twice for the same call; here's how to do it.

1. Pick up your voice mail (this comes off your inclusive minutes - this you have paid in your price plan)

2. Listen to the message, press 5 to get the callers number and 5 again to return the call.

3. Now the clever bit- the call return IS NOT in your inclusive minutes, so this call costs money.

Value NOT

Call details;
(number 1) 18.06.08 11.26 hrs Number dialled (121)- voice mail _ call duration 3min 28s
(number 2) 18.06.08 11.27 hrs Number dialled (mobile) - call duration 2min 42s £0.57

2 calls made at the same time- first one comes off inclusive minutes, second costs 57p (even though I had inclusive minutes left at end of month)

Now I know networks charge for call return, and other networks take it off your minutes (as they should), but to take the total time (voice mail + call return) off the minutes, and then charge seperately for the call is a joke.

Called up to ask about it, and was told that it is the company policy, but they would NOT credit the money to my bill, but I would know for the future. The guy filled in an escalations form and I would hear back.:mad:

To sum up- I'm not too chuffed with vodafone- this time it was a 42sec call, what if it was a 80 minute call to another mobile network?
It's the principle of the thing. What other company charges you twice for the same call?
baldly going on...

    A Vodafone kipper; straight from the terms and conditions

    15. When using Call Return (returning a call when directly within Vodafone Voicemail / Vodafone Mail Service), you will be charged for both the Vodafone Voicemail call and the Call Return call throughout the duration of the returned call. Call Return calls will be deducted from the bundle, where appropriate. The Call Return charge is calculated as the rate for that price plan, as if you had hung up and dialled direct for the returned call, less the voicemail charge. The minimum call rate on Call Return is the same as the Voicemail rate. Call Return calls to other mobile networks within the voice bundle of Anytime plans, as well as having the length of call deducted from the bundle, incur an additional charge equal to the difference between the cost of the call to another network and the cost of a call to a Vodafone Mobile.
