Some people in the UK actually throw food away on the "Best Before" date, because they've been frightened so badly by media reports about food poisoning and TV ads saying you need to sterilise all surfaces with bleach before even thinking about preparing food.
Exactly.! Thank you:beer:0 -
I am told I need to keep a jar of jam in a fridge,once opened.That's rubbish,it's a "preserve".
I can make up my own mind about these types of things.0 -
Mrs Shandypants has a system where by, if it smells/looks ok then we can eat it.
After that, once it gets a bit risky she puts it in my sandwiches for work  .
What I dont know dont hurt me, apparently.“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
I've noticed that 'premium branded' jars of preserves, pickles, spreads etc are less likely to have the 'keep deep frozen and use within 3 and a half minutes of opening' warning on them. Does this mean the more expensive the brand, the more preservatives they contain????Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small
