Hi
i am thinking of swapping to Wanadoo broadband, they advertise £14.99 for the 1st 6 mths then £17.99 for up to 8 meg (currently only 2mb in my area, but may be 8mb by xmas) it is also free wireless for the 6mths then £4 after that if you choose to continue, this is something i have wanted for a while and they provid all the equipment- any comments before i commit myself?!

Been with them for 8 months - was connected within a week of signing up.
Since then I have had no problems whatsoever - first time connection with no downtime.0 -
I've had no end of problems with them moving my connection when I moved house, ended up making many phonecalls, getting very frustrated and having no connection for about a month longer than I expected. Eventually they refunded the moving fee and some of the monthly fee, but I'm not happy with the service I got.
I think they've had bad reviews in somewhere like which, too.
force9 is supposed to be good, helpful etc and cheap. When my contract with wanadoo expires I am going to be looking elsewhere for sure!0 -
I have had broadband with Wanadoo for over a year now. Been happy with the service, but the wireless kit was useless to me as it interfered with everything.
So if you want to use it without the wireless kit I would recommend it.
:-)
There's also madasafish, if you want more details click here. I was going to go for the offer until wanadoo gave me the free wireless kit (lot of use it turned out to be tho lol!)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Ever heard of catch22 - my experience with Wanadoo has been less than good, just try to close your account or ring them to get a better deal, they'll keep you hanging on for 29 minutes, then tell you you cant talk to the cancellation dept. until you direct debit clears the account, by which time more calls have been made, then you call them again and they tell you......... catch22. Dont do it!0

Ok, if you're gonna go for any service for fast broadband go for BlueYonder is gonna be upgrading to 10mb in a bit.

Wanadoo love you when you're a new customer...but once they've got you, they couldn't give a hoot! Helplines are useless if you need them, and if you have a problem with your payment or upgrade or anything like that, it's like talking to a brick wall! The helpline staff know absolutely nothing...so don't ever ring them because it will cost you an arm and a leg.
Basically....wanadoo is ok until you have problems of any kind.....then you are really stuck because once they have your custom they don't care less....
BE WARNED! TRULY! They are after numbers.....not actual people who want things to work and want to be treated fair! :mad:0 -
I have been with Wanadoo since 2000 when they were still called Freeserve. I was on dial up until earlier this year then I upgraded to broadband. They sent me the modem and instructions, I followed them faithfully and within 2 days I was connected. I also loaded the software onto my backup laptop. Never had a problem.
Their technical support team is available 24/7 but on an 09 number so it's very expensive to call them but they are quick to help.
Haven't tried to cancel, so don't know how bad they are in that respect. The 1.1Mb speed I get is quite sufficient for my needs, so at the moment I have no reason to switch.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
