This may be a thicky question
but ...I don't know the answer.I've just finished a year contract with vodaphone and I have a LG shine. In my area vodaphone gives the best coverage so I dont want to change provider and I dont need a new phone but I want to go PAYG.What do I have to do? Do I need a new sim? Do I need to contact vodaphone or what?

You have to contact Vodafone to cancel the contract and tell them you wish to stay with them and they will port your number to a pay as you go ism card, which means you will be able to keep the same phone number.0

Another option would be to ask Vodafone about their range of SIM only contracts. These offer a fixed rate of minutes and texts for a set price, starting at £15 pm, with no phone but only a 30 day rolling contract. You can simply put the sim they provide into your current phone. They should be willing to port your current number to one of these as they will be keen to keep your business. This may prove cheaper than pay as you go as this tends to be expensive with Vodafone, as I found0

I have a friend in the same situation, and Voda converted the contract to a PAYG there and then. However they got one helluva offer from Voda before they finally changed it over!A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0

Here is the link to the vodafone SIM only offers on the Vodafone site

But you may prefer to bargain with them first to see if they will give you a special contract deal as the previous poster said0 -
Another solution - I realise that you don't want to change provider BUT....
Vodafone will give you £90 for a SIM only 30 day contract and a free bluetooth headset thro' Quidco. This would pay for a £15 pound tariff (250xnet &100 texts) for 6 months.
This would require you to port your number (assuming you wish to keep the same number), just ask for a PAC number.
You could port to say Virgin(quickest turnaround and back to Vodafone in about 10-12 days) ..... just a suggestion.0 -
ASDA mobile uses the Vodafone network: you could always buy one of their sim cards and port your number across.

Not sure I would do this, my OH thought she was safe with Three as they use O2.
We can only get O2 and Voda.
Now Three have gone on to Orange for their carrier, so at some point my OH's phone will stop working!A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -

3 have their own network it only reverts to Orange previously O2 if you cant get a signal on the 3 network.
Where as Asda piggy back on Vodafone at all times.0
