Hey, I am really hoping someone can help me below is my story,
On July 18th i recieved a unusually large phone bill from orange (pay monthly). I froze the bill as i had not recieved the 'bill breakdown' like normal months-whihc is convenient at a time when it was obviously an abnormally high bill. On Monday 21st i rang to pay my bill of 112.64. The next day i went to my bank and found that my bill had been taken TWICE out of my account! This brought me withdrawn in my account (first time ever) and also ment i had no money left. I rang up and was told it would be back on my account in 24 hours-which i was not happy about as i had NO money in my account but i was patient and said ok. Now, 28 hours after that phone call, i still have ahad no money put back into my account. I have NO money for petrol etc that i had budgeted for throughout the week. I rang the orange'customer service' and spoke to a different person and was told no-one would ever tell me 24 hours for a refund (was i dreaming) it would be 5 days. This is unbelievable service. How can you get away with taking that much money unlawfully out of someones account!!!!
I really do need some advice, i dont know what to do!

Do you pay via DD, if so you would be covered under the DD mandate, which is something about them refunding quickly, although i can't remember how long. Also might be worth giving your bank a ring explain the situation and ask for a temporay overdraft for the week.0

Contact your bank in the first instance
Orange should refund any charges also:
The Direct Debit Guarantee- If the amounts to be paid or the payment dates change, the organisation collecting the payment will notify you normally 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed
- If an error is made by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid
- You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by contacting your bank or building society. We also recommend you notify the organisation concerned.

Also see my post about Orange customer services for email contact that gets you through to head office (i.e, you'll be taken seriously)Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.0
