Off on hols tomorrow:j but when I made the booking Iwas in light packing mode!! now it comes down to the wire, and the cases seem heavy!!! so as I have only booked and paid for 3 cases(between 5) am I better (and is it possible to do this at the airport?) taking another case and paying for that, or have the exisitng ones be over and pay excess weight charge?
Can anyone help?

I think you can amend your booking online and add another case, if so it will be cheaper than doing it at the airport. Hope this helps.0

Yes, I agree with TrishaM. Excess charges are very high so don't even think about doing it that way. Taking extra bags and paying at the airport is possible but online is cheaper and more convenient. Go to the "Manage my booking" (or something like that) screen to add baggage to a booking. You don't have to pay credit/debit card charges for amendments to existing bookings.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
You can't add luggage to your booking on the 'net - you have to do it over the phone or at the airport.
Your options are to pay £12 per kg EACH WAY for excess baggage or for one of your non-bag people to add a bag at £16 per bag
BTW I hope you allocated each of your existing bags to a different person when you booked as anyone who doesn't have a bag allocated to them DOESN'T HAVE A CHECKED BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE, so if you've done it wrong your total current baggage allowance for 5 people is 15kg and not 45kg0 -

You have probably packed too much. Just repack. Check in three and put the overflow in carry on hand baggage. That will give you and extra 6kg pp0 -

Yep, came in v handy when friends were flying to Knock this week. They always pack too much, but usually the check in staff turn a blind eye. This time they didn't, but they did give them the option for the two adults to have hand luggage closer to 20kg each (the two kids are too young to carry anything) to avoid charges! xGone ... or have I?0 -
talking of light packing mode I got carried away with the whole ryanair 'don't take any luggage/check in on-line it's cheaper' thing and am going to attempt 2 weeks holiday with just hand-luggage - that's all 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids including one fashion-conscious 8 year old girl!! I'm trying to persuade myself we'll manage.0
