What I want to know is can Paypal take the money back from me back to the seller?
If the dispute was closed and you have been refunded, then there is nothing the seller can do through the paypal system. You should probably put in a compensation claim to RM and forward any money you get from that to the seller, since you don't know for sure that it was delivered.

I don't believe it! The RM couldn't prove delivery and PayPal refunded you anyway!! I am so jealous!
I am in exactly the same situation except my evil seller DID receive his goods (sent me nasty email confessing), RM cannot prove delivery and PayPal have NOT refunded me my money.
    You are so lucky...
    :wall:
  • My situation is that the buyer received the goods (which was a voucher for a Red Letter Day) but Red Letter Days went bust about two months after the auction. So the buyer claimed against his credit card who initiated a chargeback against me. I am £180 down and angry!

If I'd kept the Track and Trace number then I would apparently have been covered under eBay Seller protection - but I discarded the number when the buyer confirmed delivery.

PayPal told me at the weekend that that mailed the buyer to ask whether it had been delviered or not but got no reply so they found in their favour. Bizarre huh?

Having discussed this with PayPal a number of times I don't even know who my dispute is with. They say they are simply passing on a chargeback and effectively it is closed. I don't imagine the credit card company will talk to me as I have no "contract" with them.

    The whole thing stinks.

Your dispute is with paypal. The credit card company have taken the money back from paypal, and paypal have then, separately, recovered their losses from you. Unfortunately, it's all covered in their T&Cs, so there's not much you can do about it. I think your only option is small claims court action against the buyer, but you would need to prove they received the voucher to do that.
  • Another update, I'm not sure where I stand now

BUT I thought this was already resolved with Paypal as they refunded me on Friday 4th November with this email
