Rather nice chap from dell phoned and apologised for the non delivery he acknowledged the fault of the courier and is to send a printer by way of apology.
Top marks for customer service. At least they were interested enough to take on board a complaint and act on it . Although it felt we were banging our head against a brick wall we weren't.
Now we just have to sort out Wanadoo and get them to refund payment from credit card after account closed.
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!

I've been going through the exact same thing, though gawed knows what's ahppened because the Dell guys are like robots. They speak English very well, but struggle to comprehend the English language.
    1. You cannot collect from TNT, it's delivery only (according to Dells agents, Walsh Western).
    2. The guys from Dell have been courteous, though so far, absolutely ineffectual.
    3. Your contract is with Dell, and you are encouraged to call them and blame them, not the courier. How the hell do they know otherwise?

For a laugh, here's my track and scan up until now. I live in DY8 Dudley area. My PC is due to be delivered today.....

    Update....
    26/10/05 14:30 LYX - BIRMINGHAM ADDRESS QUERY.

True to form, the Lynx van cruised past and stopped briefly 6 houses down. He had the postcode but was looking out of his van at the wrong side of the road to my postcode block....didn't get out the vehicle and then drove off while i sprinted down the road waving my arms like Basil Fawlty.
After a very irate phone call......it's now coming tomorrow before 12.......
Excuse me while i breathe in and out very slowly.

:rotfl: Sorry, odowdchr, but thanks for the giggle - I can just picture you legging it after that van :D Much sympathy (we went through something similar - see earlier post) and waiting with bated breath to hear if you actually do receive it tomorrow - good luck!

It finally arrived at 3.35pm for a 8-12 delivery so i'd gone to work and asked my dad round to wait again.......delivery bloke with attitude said he'd walked up and down the street the previous day....so he wasn't happy that my dad told him he was watched and chased down the round after his quick 30second stop :rotfl: . The fella also tried to stick 12.25pm on the delivery receipt so he'd obviously taken an early lunch or stopped off to see his girlfriend or something... ..
It was a Dell free delivery offer but they've agreed to refund £20 off the already very cheap 5150 deal.
Got to say though, the computer is excellent.
