Stocks and Shares ISA Help newbie

Chris, if I were you I would seriously think about seeing an IFA. They can be really good not only at giving you immediate advice on which funds to invest in, but also at helping you to understand the bigger strategic picture of how to invest to suit your risk profile (e.g. the proportions of your investments that you might want to hold in property funds, bonds, different types of equity funds etc).
Make sure that you see an Independent Financial Adviser, not an "adviser" attached to a bank or financial institution who is basically a salesperson.
I am not an IFA so I'm giving this advice without any kind of self-interest!0 -
Hi, this is the first time I have ever posted a message and not sure if it is o.k. this way, but I read Chris's message and wondered if anyone has any opinions about continuing to pay into a share ISA (also with Halifax) I currently put £300 per month, should I continue thus buying more shares if the value keeps going down or should I just save the money in a high interest account? Pls accept apologies if I have done this wrong!0

Halifax is a poor funds provider but the concept of doing it is right.should I continue thus buying more shares if the value keeps going down
Best time to buy. Shares always go up and down. That is normal. Its a zig zag and we are in one of many zags just as we had 6 years of zig with only minor zags.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
