Hi everyone
Something's bugging me (yes I know I shoud get a life) but sometimes when I import a CD to iTunes it's pulling in artwork that's not the same as my CD's cover. Perhaps there is more than one version of artwork for some CDs.
Is there any way of searching for other versions of artwork for any given CDS and changing to the correct one, or is it best just to browse for the correct cover in Google and "Adding" the artwork manually.
Thank you in advance for any replies.

 Can anyone explain to me how to put a signature here?

I don't think there's any way to tell iTunes to go off an search for alternative album artwork. I've got a few albums like that, usually when the US cover is different from the one on the CD I've got...0

You can add the cover artwork manually, by copying the correct picture from Google or wherever and then right click on the song.
This will allow you to edit the properties and simply paste it into the artwork box.0 -
Amazon is great for album artwork - most albums have now got "customer images" available for putting into i-tunes. Find the image you want, save it onto your desktop and then just drag it into the artwork box in the bottom left hand side of i-tunes.
I know what you mean though, some of the wrong artworks i-tunes picks up are hillarious!:D0 -
If you are running on a Mac, there are some great dashboard widgets that can run which search your library, playlist or just playing music for artwork from a variety of sources Amazon, CD companies etc, and you can replace that way.
Else just find the album online, save the picture (right-click, save picture from your browser etc), then in iTunes import via the tracks properties as per GaryS' advice.0 -

If you are using a mac, it's even easier - just drag a picture across into Itunes and it wil add it for you0 -

That's cross-platform too, both PC and Mac, in fact if artwork is missing, if you have the artwork display switched on in the bottom right, you should see "Drag Album Artwork Here".0 -

You don't even need to do that. Shrink the Firefox window so you can still see the bit of iTunes in the bottom left where the image goes then drag the image from the webpage and drop it on the icon for the album art in iTunes.0 -
Thanks for all the replies guys, updating images manually by Adding Artwork.
Anyway...... !!!!
I inserted an old 70's album and I got a popup box offering 3 choices of which cover art I wanted to download. So there ARE multiple covers for certain albums.
However, pity you only got a title description and you couldn't actually see the image before you decided which one to use!!! Can anyone explain to me how to put a signature here?

I think that pop-up box was asking you to choose what the album actually was so it could add the titles and other info, as opposed to letting you choose the artwork.
I have a friend who tried letting iTunes add all his artwork, and it changed the artwork of everything called "Greatest Hits" to the cover of Queen's Greatest Hits. Sad, but true.
Never had a problem with it myself though.0 -
I tried letting iTunes add artwork but it was only able to find a few covers. Not all the music I listen to is that obscure!
This is vaguely related, but are 5G iPods meant to show artwork when you listen to music? I'm sure they are, but mine doesn't seem to do that.0
