If you say your computer is fine and you're not concerned about how it's running, then what's the problem?

Vista handles your RAM differently to the way XP does, in the way that it will take up all of the RAM and allocate it to a program when it requests it, instead of not using it as XP did. It's more efficient and certainly nothing to be concerned about.

I really don't think you have anything to worry about, Windows Vista will use more physical memory than XP, on my PC for example with only the browser running it uses around 1.2Gb, the PC has 4gb of RAM. Its possible that yours is caching memory onto your HDD and this would account for the CPU usage.
You don't say what programmes/applications you were running at the time.
Do you know a tame 12 year old who could have a look at it for you?

How long have you had the PC? The CPU usage is probably just Vista indexing the drive. RAM usage is because Vista is designed to use as much RAM as is available, it will preload commonly used apps so they start up quicker.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

It sounds fine, although I would stick more ram in to run Vista. Regardless of the minimum, IMHO you need 2gb to run Vista properly and smoothly :)

Vista Home Basic runs perfectly well with 1gb of Ram.

Personally I don't like either AVG or ZoneAlarm as I've found them both to be resource hungry, so I dump them
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical
