Easyjet flight cancellation email - could it be fake?

I got an email earlier on today from Easyjet saying that my flight was cancelled & if I want to change it to another flight to the same destination without incurring any admin fees, to log onto my account on their website and do so. Alternatively I can ring for a full refund.
I want to change it so I logged on but it doesn't seem to offer me any option to change it without incurring the E30 fee per person, plus paying the full cost of the new flights too. I had expected a message on the site abotu the fact it is cancelled but there was nothing along those lines either. In fact, when I requested another copy of my confirmation email, it sent me one!
Has anyone ever heard of fake / spoof emails about Easyjet flights being cancelled? I've tried to call but no answer yet and now the office is closed until tomorrow, grrr....

Just go on to the site and see if they are still selling flights for that day.0 -
No, they aren't. But I thought that might just mean the flight was sold out? Especially since they are still willing to send me a confirmation email.
I guess it could just be that their website hasn't fully updated with the cancellation yet, or something... I don't really know what I should be seeing if it were cancelled, when I log in and view my bookings.
I'll keep trying the site & try again to call tomorrow, I guess.0 -
Yeah I think the best thing would be to speak to someone, but make sure you use a phone number you get straight from the easyjet website, not a phone number on the email (you probably know to do this anyway but thought I'd say it just in case)0
