I think the most disappointing situation im in at the moment is, not wanting to settle down because of the worry of not being able to afford a relationship. Now i know using the affording a relationship sounds silly, but you have to do something in life together eh..holidays etc etc.. but know at this time i cant afford so am staying single til i can afford.

The idea of doing things together, is supposed to be because its what you both would want. I can afford to stay single, I dont have any debts to worry about. But I dont want to. Ive been single for just over a year, Im comfertable, but Im certainly not happy, im lonely, and the longer im single the more reclusive I will become, to be honest, spending the rest of my life living this way scares me, I dont want to die old, and be forgotten, or worse nobody even aware that im rotting away in some tower block.

Single blokes, particularly me, dont look at a partner with a view of wether or not they or I can afford a holiday. I could be just as happy spending a day walking hand in hand in a park, as I would going away on a holiday. Its not about what one or the other can or cannot afford, its the feeling of being happy together, regardless of the pitfalls of life, couples go fru thick n thin together, because they know at the end of it, theyre happy just being in each others hearts (love and happiness need not cost a thing).

Marleyboy, that post is brilliant, I think it's really good to get a male perspective on the whole thing. I don't understand men at all, I need instructions for them lol :D

It does become difficult I have to be honest, i spend most of my time worrying that my father has enough £££ each month...we both earn over £23k a year...im in the police and am hoping for a move to london in the next 6 months...salary up to 31k with loads of OT available...think that my life will definately start then....just wish id not had to wait til 30 to start it you know.

I wish i had the salary i'm on now a couple of years earlier - it would have made such a difference to my debt.

The idea of hundreds of Rik Clones is scary for me ;) although it would prove useful should I want a day off work.

I can think of a way that doesnt involve a test tube ;) Id have to be honest to myself tho and say I dont think I have the energy for mass production ;)

.................Oh what the heck....Form an orderly que ladies, no pushing in at the back, and one at a time please lol :D
