Well he's getting to keep a 4 bed detached and all it's contents - kids are both at uni but still come home so I wanted them to have all the old familiar things to come back to.

He's the one who wanted out - mid-life crisis, he's convinced there is a queue of young blondes with big boobies out there just waiting for him to become available <sigh>

I did say I hope what he's looking for is worth the price he is going to pay - and I don't just mean money!
I applaud you, and in no way was I having a dig at your pradicament, I still get stick from both family and friends for handing it all over without a fight, but im just not into tit for tat fights with my X, it solves nothing, and just prolongs the suffering of both parties, hence solves nothing. Much easier for me to wash my hands and say "Fcuk It" and start from scratch, I dont see it as losing what I have built, more as losing the debt that goes with keeping it up. Having a clean debt history, a reletively comfertable wage, and no responcabilities anymore, starting afresh, should be a breeze.

I just dont know if its worth me going alone, besides my salary not even covering the mortgage for a small 2 bed semi, do I really need to get one if I am to be a bacholer? should I be happy renting a small flat? It has its perks but so to its drawbacks, what woman is going to be interested in a bloke at my age, who lives in a poxy small flat.
