I have an Orchid dialler which is set to use 18185 for calls to mobiles at the w/end - advertised rate 2p/min (and has been ever since I opened an account with them some time ago).
This morning I was looking at my on line (but as yet not invoiced) bill and it appears from 2 calls to mobiles made yesterday (Saturday) - and after allowing for the 4p connection charge - that these calls were charged at exactly 5p/min!! .
Has anyone else found the same??
I have sent an e to 18185 to ask what is going on......I will report back here when I get a response!
EDIT - I have just called a mobile number........the voice now says it's 5p a minute!! - time to revert back to 1899...which is still 3p/min!
EDIT 31st October - 18185 rates (for non cable/mobile users) are now definitely 5p/min peak and evenings and 2p/min w/ends. I think I got caught up in the change over (reducing peak rates from 10p to 5p/min) and ended up being charged 5p/min for 5 weekend calls - which prompted my OP. Since then I have been exchanging a series of e-mails with 18185 - only to receive completely ludicrous and non-related replies! For the sake of an overcharge of about 50p...I think I'll leave things where they are.....:)

I agree - but check your actual bill for any calls made yesterday - you will find they are charged at 5p/min! Also make a mobile call right now - the "voice" tells you its 5p/min.....
18185 really ought to get their act together about implementing price increases.0 -

Unfortunatly I can't check. Yesterday and today 18185 and 1899 and 18866 have been busy, I haven't been able to telephone out on an evening at all. I'm moving to planet talk on 25th October, hope I don't have the same problem with that on a weekend0

telephoned my own mobile fone (O2), and automated voice said 3p per minute, so mine's increased by 1p per minute.. very strange :rolleyes:0

Since my initial post - I have been exchanging Es with 18185 CS (at least they respond!).
To recap, my calls last Sat to mobiles were definitely charged at 5p/min (as shown on my invoice) and later confirmed by "the voice" when I tried a test call to a mobile on Sunday. The 2nd e-mail - received today - I had from 18185 (the first was a complete non-answer!) was as follows:
"Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your mail.
Please check all 18185 calls are subject to a connection fee of 4p and calls to
UK mobile
are charged as:
Sat/Sun – 2p/min
Weekdays – 10p/min
We hope this has answered your query.
