Cashback - Any Alternatives?

Not quite the only reason - also the retailers only get some of their commission from thew network if the account is still connected after 6 months which justifies withholding payments till then.
I'm probably being a bit naive here (I've not studied the various t&c's) but had assumed that if you took out a 12 month contract (say) then you were liable to pay for the full 12 months whatever happens, so whether you were still connected was immaterial. Are there ways of opting out early?
I also understand the carphone warehouse (e2save and now osps) have 'revenue sharing' agreements with the networks and thus get a percentager of every bill you pay, hance they are getting money in for the entire 12 month period..
I knew there'd be some added complications!

cash backs always depend on how organised you are to claim at the right date etc,,,, but they usually are the best deal for inclusive mins etcmy bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0

Go to phones 4u with a cashback deal and see if they will match it, i took the 6630 /6680 cpw offer and to get the contract they offered me £100 cashback there and then with no claiming (i said i was prepared to claim) so i walked out with a nice new 6680 and £100 cash in hand plus the 3 months 1/2 price from 3.The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
