My 80 yr old Mum needs a new phone.
She had my old brick about 5yrs ago, and even that was really "all too much" for her:rotfl:
She needs a phone that you put a number in and ring it, just like a landline handset. She may be able to cope with a basic memory function but I'm not convinced.
So, good battery life, simple big ish buttons and no frills (she wanders into the wrong part of the menu and I have to put her on the right lines again!).
Looks like tesco P+G is best as she will have 5 numbers at 10p/min and I bet she doesn't have 10 people she calls from her moby anyway.
Which of these do you guys think will be the one?

I think I'll keep the online account too as then she can call me top top it up- she goes into a phone shop at butlins and they do it for her at the moment-which is totally sweet of them:T

not tesco but have a look at the motorola F3, so basic it doesnt even text as we know it, large letters on a mono display and large keys, the best bit is the price, in our local In-Store they are selling for 6 quid on T-mobile, even if you factor in a unlock its still very cheap«◊» PRO UNLOCKER «◊»0

Probably best with one of the basic Nokia's and Tesco mobile is pretty good, although they do tend to fill your phonebook with their phone numbers.0

In my opinion the motorola F3 would not be suitable. I got one as a spare phone for work and find it incredibly difficult to use. The menu system is weird to say the least (maybe I am just used to normal phones!) I would agree with a basic nokia.0

FWIW there are companies that specialise in phones for the elderly, e.g.
